Overall the trail is nice, but it is super rocky. Don’t wear sneakers here. Definitely should be done during the morning or late evening. Also a little longer than advertised. I was just shy of 10 miles.

It might be technically easy, but if you're hiking on a sunny day you're going to have a bad time. Start early and bring plenty of water because there's basically no shade. For some extra motivation to get out here early, it's my favorite spot to see a sunrise in Pueblo if you can get at least a mile down the trail before the sun comes up. (I go counter-clockwise around the loop to be near the cliffs and water at the start.)

I just started MTB this month and this trail is a great beginner trail. There’s enough here to challenge you without sending you off your pedals to push up monster inclines and white knuckle down intense declines. The weather is the biggest factor to battle with this trail. It’s incredibly hot. Be sure to have plenty of water, skin covering, and energy chews because the temperature really beats you up.
