Mesa Trail is a 2.1 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near La Junta, Colorado that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, camping, horses, and mountain biking and is accessible year-round. Horses are also able to use this trail.
The Mesa trail at Vogel Canyon is a 2.25 loop trail that branches off the Overlook trail and the Prairie trail. It wanders through the pinon pine, past a spring and some old ruins.
Vogel Mesa trail follows the canyon rim and offers nice view of the canyon and surround country. Pleasant and short enough for anyone. Camping at the trailhead and coupling this trail with the others at Vogel makes for a nice day to day and one half of fun.
