We appreciated the cloud cover, but they should really work on their rock situation. Kirsten said she would have preferred a few more large boulders to climb. They had a couple that she forced us to scramble up, but they were pretty sharp and tore up her leggings. Grace thought it would be nice if they brought in some large, smooth rocks with some good handholds. Overall, we’d give this one a solid 4.2.

Beautiful hike. Nice mix of shade and sunny areas, very level for the most part with only a handful of bigger hills. Nice easy trail to ease back into hiking season. Lots of mountain bikers today.

Interesting trail. Lots of variety. Very hard to follow trail so recommend downloading map and check it regularly. Lots of tangents. About 70% of this trail is made for and a real treat for mountain bikers so a little less enjoyable for hikers. Beautiful views. Trail has a combination gulchy, quarry, scrubby feel to it. Did a 5 mile hike today as I got lost twice.

As others have said, kind of confusing to figure out where the trail is at times, but it’s absolutely beautiful!

It was a great hike! Terrible lack of signage made it a 5 mile hike. But the weather and scenery were wonderful!

A beautiful local scenic trail, perfect for hiking, mountain biking, and trail running. With unobstructed views of the front range and Pikes Peak, as well as endless spur trails to keep you occupied all day; this area has plenty of opportunity to enjoy whatever activity suits you! If you are looking for seclusion, I wouldn't recommend this, although there are some places that are far enough away from the roads, the majority of the trail system is connected to residential areas or main roads. If you are strapped for time & looking for a quick afternoon jaunt, this is the place for you!

HikingGreat!

The trail today was amazing, very little mud, and no ice. the trail is actually 4.2 Miles with 440 FT EG. We had very good trail conditions and it was beautiful. The only litter I noticed was a few dog bags along the side of the trail left by 3 irresponsible dog owners. (Oh I hate that!!!!!! ) Other than those 3 dog owners not bringing their POOP with them...the trail was absolutely perfect. Remember...LEAVE NO TRACE! Tie the poop bags on your leash and take your poop with you. don't leave it for others to look at along the trail...thats rude and we don't care to see it! If you can't pick up after your furbaby's...just leave them home.

BEAUTIFUL trail!! The first couple miles are kind of scary to hike alone; you can hear all the animals. Also, it’s like an absolute must to record your hike to find your way because the loop has many off trails that aren’t labeled. No spikes needed.
