Nice trail, on the way to the lake you are gaining the elevation. The counterclockwise direction at the lake is what's wet, rocky and with better views.

Trail was a little bit too crowded for us. But it was a beautiful 5.6 mile hike to a gorgeous lake setting.

HikingGreat!Snow

Did this hike last weekend, 9/12. It was beautiful and not very crowded. Only a couple groups at the lake. Trail around the lake was hard to find given recent snow but doable if willing to go through snow and mud. Overall relatively easy uphill to the lake. My 7 month old puppy did the whole thing and loved it.

HikingMuddySnow

was still pretty muddy yesterday and very snowy around the lake. I'm a very beginner hiker and it took me around 4.5h. Lunch by the lake was probably an hour of that though, and the snow by the lake definitely slowed things down. Very easy to follow trail. the steep part right before the lake wasn't fun, but otherwise an enjoyable trail.

Great hike, my pup loved it. Beautiful views at the end. Completed mid-August in 40 degree rain but still had a blast!

I’d say the trail is toward the easier side of moderate only because of the steeper section toward the top. Beautiful big lake. Lots of camping. We did this as a short day hike but looking forward to making it an easier backpacking trip. Looked like there was a lot to be explored :)

Starts out super easy, lots of uphill toward the end, definitely worth it once you get to the top! Be sure to hike all the way around the lake as well, especially if you want to get out of the wind for awhile!

HikingGreat!

the hike up is uphill majority of the way with a few moderately steep parts, but nothing too crazy! the hike is truly beautiful through some wild flower patches and along side a creek. make sure to bring a jacket because once you get to the top it is SUPER windy and quite chilly! absolutely gorgeous secluded lake at the top, really stunning.

Wonderful trail! The hike in is a mix of flat and uphill terrain, so the hike out is a smooth descent. The portion of the trail that loops around the lake had some muddy patches, so I was glad I wore my hiking boots. A few tents were pitched around the lake and it looked like a great place to camp! A recent review mentioned a bear sighting early on in the trail, but we did not encounter any bears when we hiked today.

Unfortunately we hiked this trail in the rain, but the lake was still beautiful. The trail to the lake is just alright. Wish i could have spent more time at the lake.

Only got maybe a half a mile down the trail before crossing paths with a bear. We were trying our best to make noise as we hiked but that didn’t deter it. If you go, make sure to bring bear spray and maybe some kind of noise maker. Can’t really say too much about the rest of the trail as we didn’t get to complete it. Just a heads up for anyone going!

Great trail. The best part was the loop around the lake. The trail was pretty clear to see. It was very lush and beautiful. Can’t do this without doing the loop around the lake!

HikingGreat!

Great hike with a beautiful lake! The trail was really easy to follow. There wasn’t much shade on the way up, but we were lucky to have cloud coverage today. There were plenty of shady places to rest by the lake. There were a few muddy spots, but not too bad if you have waterproof hiking shoes on. I definitely recommend this hike!

Great hike! The trail starts out pretty level and has a steeper incline section about midway up. The lake at the top is so beautiful and peaceful. Great places to find a rock to sit on and soak in all the beauty. You can walk all the way around the lake. The trail on far side of the lake is not quite as defined.
