This is not a hiking trail, it is for downhill mountain ONLY!! I dont know why its listed here as a hiking trail but it shouldn't be.

I really wouldn’t recommend this trail for hiking. The trail head down to the open spaces is the chutes trail. It’s meant and built for downhill mountain biking and can be very dangerous for hikers. The trail isn’t meant for foot traffic. Bikers are very fast around the bends and can be hard to hear until it’s too late. Once you get to the open spaces park, the trails are much wider and friendly to hikers/runners and dogs. Use Gold Camp Path instead to get to the open spaces from the trail head. It’s hiking only and you don’t risk getting in the bikers’ way.

Nice lil hike! LOTS of mountain bikers on the trail, so we had to stop quite frequently. Otherwise, the trail was super clean and not rocky at all!

Definitely an active trail but not so much it's annoying. Only a few pockets of snow left and a bit of mud. Nothing to sneeze at. Fragrance was so nice and yesterday's weather was perfect. Got a little warm. I apparently went down a different path. I parked at #6 following the directions from AllTrails. There were were two trails. I went right. That was Gold Camp Path. Chutes Trail looked more for bikes. Going down is easy, going up can take your breath.

Fun hike, beautiful view from gold camp road where it starts and various options to branch out or take alternate routes as you go along. There are several parking lots that feed into these trails besides the start on gold camp road. Make sure you have one ear out at all times if your on foot as it’s heavily used by bicyclists and it’s downhill so they come fast and you need to listen out to avoid them.

Just a heads-up, this trail was scheduled to be designated for bikes ony, and for them, only downhill. It’s a sensible move in my opinion. We hikers have a huge array of trails to choose from. Anyways, Im not sure when it goes into effect. I haven’t been up there yet this season, maybe it has already happened. Just wanted to let people know so they aren’t disappointed at the trailhead.

Pretty good hike as a whole! There was a small part of the trail that appeared to be closed so we had to detour, and it isn’t super well marked- so watch the app map closely. Also struggled with the bikers- as a whole when they were going down the mountain they were way too fast and one had headphones in and almost hit our dog. The nature is beautiful though and it was still a lovely Sunday morning hike!

Bikers come up on you so fast you barely have a chance to get out of the way and some of them were going super fast. If you have a dog, bring it for sure. There's a little dog heaven up here.

Not bad, but lots of bikers that come down the trail very fast and unfortunately a few wear headphones so when you shout “yo” they don’t slow down til they look at you. Only a couple of those though so no biggie. Average trail at best.

Kind of hard to stay on the right trail. It’s a beautiful hike and not as highly trafficked as I had expected. There are mountain bikers to be aware of on a piece of the hike.

This trail starts at the top and you hike down. Great views, just expect the harder part of the hike to be the second half.

A favorite single-track riders trail and no wonder! The views, the reservoirs, the wildlife are beautiful, peaceful and the hike is exhilarating - just keep an ear out for the cyclists.

I enjoy this trail, but always scared I’m going to get trampled by a mountain biker.

Ignore the HOA signs that attempt to deny citizens access to public trails on public land. This was a good combo of trails that provide good variety of single track, elevation, Jeep trail, woods, and mountainside. Good views and nice changes in ecosystems.

It was an awesome trail with amazing views. At some points there are numerous trails intersecting each other but the GPS feature on the app keeps you heading in the right direction.

This is one of my favorite trails yet! You get beautiful views of the mountains, the city, and the forest itself. The reservoirs are really nice and there are a couple of places that have bathrooms if needed. The trail is a bit longer than listed because part of it is blocked off so you have to take an extra loop. It was a total of 5.51 miles and an elevation gain of 1,095 feet!

This is a reverse style trail. You drive up the mountain a bit to park at the trail head, then hike your way down and back up. (Not that great) You have to watch out for bikers.

We took the downhill section of the Chutes after tackling Columbine and a few others. Very nice trail section.

Great downhill section. The last 1/3rd of the loop is shut down, but there’s an alternate route that is a little longer.

Be ready for downhill mountain bikers...they'll be coming in hot. But that's honestly not a big deal. You just HAVE to pay attention. Besides that, the hike is great! Plus, once you get to up to Gold Camp, you can continue on to other hikes down the road if you'd like.

It was a very confusing trail......and very little visibility from the bike riders along this trail. Be cautious
