We took this as a precursor to a different hike in the area. The trail is definitely rocky with a lot of loose gravel and little shade, but the 360 degree view of everything in the area is the key highlight. Like another poster said, the trail forks sharply at a very obvious location. We followed the path to the right and ended up on a beautiful stroll around the mountain followed by a gruesome climb straight up to meet the trail at the top. I recommend it (for intermediate/experienced hikers, that is) as it makes the trail a loop versus out-and-back and is filled with stunning views!

There was some construction on the way there, so it caused some delay. Is rocky all the way to the top but the views were pretty great. It was about 85°, and the breeze was nice. If it was cooler, it might not be as nice though.

Great views from the top of both the mountains and Boulder, but you'll have to contend with rocky slopes to get there and back. Very little shade and windy at top

Great parking lot and trailhead to hike in a few different directions. My 5 year old and I hiked up Sugarloaf and loved it. All in all we took our time and spent 1.5 hours. Great views from the top and very well maintained. Be aware there little to no cell phone service in the area.

Great trail! No a lot of traffic due to its location :) and it has an amazing view at the top of the mountain.

Quick trail that can be done in under an hour, great for going just before work. I was in and out before 9:30, only saw a couple of people and the parking lot was almost empty. No snow on the trail, just a bit in the shade at the top. The trail is a bit rocky so make sure to bring your hiking boots!

I loved this trail because it's short and the views at the top are incredible! Dog friendly but must be kept on leash and the jagged rocks the whole way up may be a little hard on their paws. I went on a weekend and it was pretty busy and barely found parking.

Great views but there’s one solid fork in the path that led around the mountain. Stay left.

Great view at the peak, looked like I was the only one on the trail the entire day, could see some windblown footprints from earlier in the week. pretty easy hike to the summit, snow was 4 inches deep at max. most of the trail was packed down though. It is silent in the area. Scariest part was the icy dirt road to get to the trailhead.

beautiful peak! the hike up can be muddy/snowy at this time of the year but it's still worth not. not heavily trafficked which is a huge plus.

Highly underrated trail with beautiful views at the top. Loose rock the entire way. Light snow and ice but no spikes required.
