Trail was really hard to find so we forged our own trail through the green slopes of the ski hill

Our kids didn’t make it very far. They detoured to play in the snow at the first road. Possibly a bit steep for some youngsters.

You’re hiking straight up Vail mountain, but in a fun doable way!

Decent hike for Vail, some aspens has leaves still but most were on the ground which still looked pretty. We had fun exploring the twisty trails .. multiple steep ascensions but manageable for novice hikers. Downside is you do hear the highway and see the city the majority of the hike so if you’re looking to get lost in nature this might not be the hike for you. Overall was a fun way to spend the afternoon in Vail and get some exercise!

HikingGreat!

Early October and this trail takes you to some lovely spots. The trail is a mix of sun and shade. The Vail trail system lists the trail as moderate and I would agree with that, poles would have been helpful in some spots!

Gorgeous fall trail! Steep at the beginning to midway. Wonderful hike, for being on the slopes. I still felt in nature and it was more rugged.

Definitely more of a moderate trail. Gorgeous colors though! Be aware that there isn’t parking at the start your have to park in the Vail Village lot and walk to the gondola. TRail starts behind the gondola.

It was a beautiful shorter hike in Vail. The first 3/4 of a mile was definitely a bit tough and got your heart rate up. Stunning sites of Vail, aspen trees at peak. Moderate foot traffic.

This trail was very nice and mostly relaxing. Walking through all the yellow aspens was beautiful. The trail was a little dusty, which is to be expected right now. Trail is very well marked. We went late in the afternoon and passed very few other hikers.

Trail was very fun uphill incline for the first half so it’s a more moderate than easy but doable with children or dogs. Beautiful fall colors right now! Cute babbling Brooks along the trail!

Beautiful trees with wonderful fall colors. I definitely wouldn’t rate this as an easy trail. The majority was an incline with some fairly steep areas that were pretty slick going down.

Good trail, anti-climactic ending. Nice views throughout, ski runs offer nice places to sit and have a lunch.

The fall colors were spectacular today. We don't normally hike at ski resorts, but were looking something short for our older dog. I agree that this should have been rated as moderate. There was quite a bit of incline and some spots where I wished that I had brought hiking poles to get down. The trail was pretty busy, not a lot of mask wearers, which was surprising because most people were wearing masks in the village.

HikingGreat!

It was a fairly steep trail. There wasn't anything confusing except maybe the signs were at a slightly wrong angle. There wasn't anything particularly impressive about the hike, no great view or anything. There were trucks going up and down the adjacent dirt roads and man made objects, so you don't feel out in nature much.

This trail should not be marked as easy. We met a couple who had come from the opposite end of the trail who had seen it was marked “moderate” on another website. It was uphill, steep and difficult to do.

My 5 year old daughter and I were able to do this hike. It definitely has a steady incline for the first 3/4 of a mile and will keep that heart rate up. A little dusty at times but overall a good hike. The color in the trees is great right now.

By far our best hike and best foliage this week! 9/23/ Don’t follow all trail map for directions there . Park for free in vail village and the trail is behind the gondola. Slightly hard to follow but village in site. Spectacularly gorgeous. And not terribly crowded. We came down berry picker and walked short walk back to the village. I would not rate this as easy. A little steep, lots of roots and coming down a few places pretty steep and a little slippery but overall just fantastic If you are looking for gorgeous fall scenery! There are also many other hikes in the area at harder levels.

Easy access to vail village but you feel far enough out to take in the aspens and beautiful mountain scenery. The trail was well marked and well maintained ... a perfect moderate hike.
