Great running trail! Beautiful scenery with only handfuls of people walking their dogs, running, biking or on horseback.

Beautiful. Great variety of views. Safe trails. Great for dogs. Just don’t start where this says to...park at the off leash dog park off Simms, then walk across the street toward the lake. Follow lake around to the right. Then head back toward the road and pass the pollinating garden, Eagle blind, and nature center on the way back.

Park at the free lot at 100th and Owens. Trail dry and clear today despite overnight snow. On service roads rather than single track. Unique spillway structures and reservoir outlet. Hawks and waterfowl common.

it was a beautiful day for the hike. The Mountains on the front range were shining from the morning Sun, and the clouds just setting over them made it a magical moment.

This is a great spot to walk the dog. The path is clear of snow and not over-crowded. I have seen coyotes here. There’s also quite a few prairie dogs.

Very open trail with a lot of vision. Literally no shade whatsoever! Pretty cool looks on the mountain from the back half of the trail.

This trail is perfect for beginner running--no stairs, and with gentle descents. No shades at all, the best time should be the morning so you can see the mountains and lakes clearly. I was impressed that there is no single shred of paper or plastic on the trail; but was equally disappointed that there were many dog poop in the middle of the trail. So watch your steps.

Great bike ride: park at Standley Lake Library. you can climb the berm behind the library to the canal trail then go north to catch Standley Lake Trail (really a service road). Follow the road to the North shore and through the campground to continue West for a bit before turning north across the road (100th St?) and into the dog park for 4 more miles.

Saw prairie dogs, coyotes and a snowy owl!! I ventured into Standley Lake Park at the west of the trail and it is beautiful! They have paddle craft rentals, tipi and camping and lots of nature programs!

No trails around the lake. Some pretty views in the distance but lots of parking lots, campers, and roads. Perhaps taking the bike path would have been more fun?
