South Standley Lake Trail Loop is a 2.9 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Arvada, Colorado that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and nature trips.

January 13, 2021Trail was a bit muddy just in some parts. The view of the mountains is insane. It was a cold windy day but those mountains were so crisp. We saw a bald eagle on the icy lake.

There are a few benches and a picnic area to dine al fresco. I usually see more bikes vs hikers but everyone is respectful communicating when a bike is approaching nearby. Grateful to have an 'easy' option for some outdoor fresh air nearby to my home. There is no shade. Otherwise, not sure why other people are critical of this otherwise. I would assume that they come from less experienced hikers. Don't hike in the middle of the day in the summer in an open area next to a lake then lol.

August 28, 2020Nice little shoreline by the lake. Gets really hot. Slight breeze. More for mountain bikes than hikes. Lots of bikes.
August 23, 2020August 21, 2020August 15, 2020Pretty lake, nice place for a walk. It got quite shiny and hot in the afternoon but the winds help cool a bit. A place to try out if you wanna a bit change of view from the mountains.

August 15, 2020August 2, 2020Bring plenty of water- not shaded- I was blessed with the opportunity to see a group of 6 or more birds of prey hunting in a group for the prairie dogs or other small prey. It was spectacular. I would recommend coming early to avoid becoming overheated unless you are prepared with plenty of hydration
