The exit to take is CO 96 (further up the same road there is a handwritten sign that says "Beaver Reservoir") no sign off CO 72 that says Beaver Reservoir. The trail is on the left a couple a hundred feet from when you turn onto CO 96 dirt road. The sign is laying down on the grass, easy to miss. Park on the side of the dirt road. If you park where the original trail post GPS says is the trailhead you will be in the Boy Scouts of America permanent camp site, which is private property. The last part of this hike (about 2 miles) is the dirt road back to your car. Nice, quiet trail, did not run across many people except when we popped out at Brainard Lake. Restrooms and lake/creek access at Brainard Lake. Our hike was 19 miles, not the 15.7 miles listed. Take rain gear since weather can change quickly. We were rained on but had gear. Also pay close attention to signs on trail, you do NOT stay on St. Vrain trail the whole way.
