Nice brisk morning. Ice/Snow coverage on 90/95% of trail. Crampons optional, as long as you have good treads you’ll be fine. Great views!!
A little slippery with ice on the trail and sections of spring creek were closed to protect wildlife. Otherwise beautiful.
Pretty low volume of people on a snowy day. Not much visibility but scenic all the same. Microspikes/yak Trax ideal.
absolutely gorgeous!!! i met a couple that was nice enough to watch my lab while i climbed up the rock. it’s not really doable w/ a big dog. but the rest is gorgeous
Excellent hike! We wandered around a little more than normal because there were great views in every direction. The scramble to the summit is really fun with some decent exposure. I brought my medium size dog and she had no problem getting to the top. Spikes could be helpful in spots but definitely not needed. The only con is barely anyone wears masks, you can tell the difference in the people just from a short drive away from Denver, definitely a lot of dummies. The trail is big enough to avoid them for the most part though.
Super nice views and quick ride out from Loveland. Really well maintained trials and fun to climb the very top.
good trail. there's ample parking at the trailhead, but it costs $9 to park. the trail is well marked and maintained all the way through. To me, it felt more moderate than hard. the incline isn't too bad and terrain is mostly packed dirt. there were a lot of icy patches near the top, so I would recommend microspikes. the final scramble to the top is fun too.
