South Illinois Creek Trail is a 1.9 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Breckenridge, Colorado that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
You can get on another trail and keep going. But for this one there wasn’t too much. Pretty trees and I’m sure pretty views if it’s not foggy Very slippery trail.
Great trail to do other than skiing in Breck. We took the trail to the right. Followed it for about an hour and a half where we found a break in the trail to go left. Took it left towards the “bench”. Kept going further and brought us to a snow filled mountain side. So pretty!
easy trail. not hard or moderate. snow everywhere and was beautiful.
Easy trail, a little elevation gain, AND no one at troll at 7:30AM!!
Scenic views on a kid-friendly trail. The trailhead is easy to find from the ice rink parking lot.
The trail is easy and if you go to the right and hike past the little creek behind the ice rink you get to a cool field of aspen trees. Today most of the leaves were blown out but the forest floor was covered in beautiful yellow leaves and my kids loved to run through the trees. We hiked up around top of Illinois Creek and connected to Blue river bike trail and then up behind the Troll and then down to troll. Took pics of the kids with the Troll and walked back out to car. It was peaceful and quiet in the woods but of course the Troll area was busy.
Easy but good for a family. Only recorded the way back. 4 miles round trip. Nice canopy.
Didn’t find the path we wanted to but still saw the troll. Very easy hike and short but troll is cool
Nice morning walk, very crowded when I got off the trail around 10am- almost empty around 8am, sadly most people weren’t wearing masks.
