Wonderful trail and gorgeous lake. Quite a few trees blown down and across the trail. I’d recommend wearing pants - the trail is overgrown and I got stung by a bee who got caught between my ankle and my boot. Otherwise highly recommended!

We are new at this and did not prepare with shoes to cross water. The creek was pretty high. You can go over on some slick logs, but we did not trust ourselves with it so we only got a small distance into the trail. Also, you need a 4WD to get to the trail head. We plan on coming back next year or so. Beautiful views.

We hiked 4.5 miles up for a round trip of 9 miles. We were the only ones on the trail. If you love aspens the lower elevations are full of amazing aspen groves. Got into an amazing thicket that was prime bear habitat-decently fresh poop on the trail. Didn’t seem like this trail was used too much at all-pretty overgrown, but easy to get through. Got steep and loose rock where we turned around.

Great hike. I never saw anyone the entire time. Lots of downed trees to deal with but otherwise not nearly as hard as this flatlander was expecting! Unbelievable views at the top! I can say I was grateful for trekking polls. The loose rock and steep downhill would have been killer without them.

this trail is great access to mountains like Adams and other 13er/14ers it doesn't have many poeple on it ever really (much less then willow) and is way easier but a little longer.

Magnificent! The water felt warm enough to swim in of it had been sunny.

Great Easter hike. Great earlier season hike. Recommend microspikes from half way point on. Scenic rewards abound in last 20% of trail. Had lake all to ourselves and basked in its glory!

Beautiful! Only moderately hard as well, though we didn't go all the way up...

Wow what a beautiful trail! Crestone is such a spiritual place and you will feel it as you meander through this beautiful mountain forest along the ice cold creek. Plenty of interesting things to discover along the way - a bridge someone made out of logs, lots of little caves and crannies in the mountain, waterfalls and a breathtaking view of an Aspen forest once you get higher up. The trail is moderately challanging but well worth it. If you find it to be difficult, just take your time and rest after the more challanging climbs because there are plenty of flats and downhills as well! Highly recomend this trail!
