Nice loop past a fishing hole in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. There's no cell phone service. Trail starts at the Aspen Meadow campground and takes you past Dudes Fishing Hole - a great place to sink a line and relax . You can extend your hike or ride by following the Mule Deer trail to Panorama Point- follow the spur trail near the end of the loop.

Short , easy hike. Nice views of a pond and good scenery the whole time. Not sure I would do this hike again though.

Pretty but a very easy hike. Family appropriate maybe? I suppose I should’ve known from the map but assumed there would be scrambling or bouldering involved to justify the difficulty rating. If you’re looking for a quick pretty hike this one is great but if you want to breath a little harder I’d reconsider.

Only a little snow left on the trail. No need for any microspikes

Fun trail! It was quite tough in the snow. Not quite enough powder to snowshoe but we used them anyways for the crampons. Had a fun time though and it was gorgeous outside!

Nice quick weekend hike, but definitely not difficult. Doesn't have the same abundance of lovely views as other hikes in the park, but you're sure to not run into many people (a bonus to me!). 4 stars because of its relative desertion. 3 stars on the merit of the hike alone. :)

More intense than the elevation graph lets on. This trail mostly follows rocky runoff ruts -- recommend good hiking shoes; poles if you use them. Not much flat space. You'll spend some time "watching your step." Good cardio. :)

Fun trail with lots of rocky terrain. The "lake" was underwhelming but it was a nice place to stop and watch the rock climbers. Didn't run into very many people, which was nice but did run into a storm.

Nice trail, very rocky and uphill. But if you start from the lake, the signs end at a neighboring campground. I ended up walking on the road til I found the trailhead. Was pretty frustrated. Needs signage past the intersection at buffalo trail. :/

I would recommend this to campers or day-hikers as a exercise trail. You hike in the forest with little to no views. Still a great area though!

the lake was much smaller then it appears but still a great hike. Also not sure why it's rated as hard. Was pretty easy most of the way.

It wasn't what we thought it was to be. There looked like a fire was there recently. The hike was not full of scenery but it was good for cardio.

It was fine. Would be a nice walk if you were camping in the area. As a drive-to hiking destination, it was pretty underwhelming.

Easy trail to get to. Lots of beautiful fall colors walking through the aspens. Definitely worth a visit in the fall!

This hike was very easy; just a 3 mile loop that is over pretty quickly. I went back and did the buffalo trail through hidden? valley, with gorgeous views, which was about an extra 1.4 miles to another fishing hole with an old preserved home next to it. So at 5.8 miles, I'd consider it a moderate and great hike.

Great short loop, didn't catch and fish and was using spoons/spinners, however did spot a moose!

Rocky the majority of the trail, but not very "difficult" as it is classified. Very serene and gorgeous hike. We arrived around 3pm and saw only 2 other hikers on the loop. Dogs loved it and passing Dude's Fishing Hole was great!

Moderate hike. Definitely not the best views compared to other trails at the park

Fun hike with my 9 year-old daughter (despite bad weather). We had camped in the Aspen Grove loop. The trails were rocky, but well maintained and very clearly marked. Moderate hike.
