Beautiful but not much shade so bring water and sunscreen. Steady incline a majority of the way. Mosquitos. Fun trail

Very pretty hike above Aspen! Not much shade on the road up but the view was lovely. Besides several hikers and bikers, we were passed by two cars driving the route, so be aware of that! It was an enjoyable, moderately steep incline with lots of additional hiking once we reached the top, though time constraints prevented exploring them. Next time!

Uphill the entire way up, so Moderate is good rating. Lots of walkers with their dogs. Basically this is a dirt road for about half, then a well-worn dirt and rock trail for 2nd half. Good views of Aspen. Did not feel very ‘wilderness’-y.

Great morning hike. Lots of views. Lots of people. Pleasant for a quick fix of the mountains and valley.

I did the hike in February. It was clear weather with a snowy path. Great view of the valley and beautiful scenery. Well worth doing if in the area, perhaps doesn’t justify going out of your way.

Same view the whole time as you walk up, but beautiful! Conditions in early January weren’t bad, didn’t have anything technical on.

I found this to be pretty steep and not 'easy'. Easy is a flat Trail around a lake. It is somewhere between easy and moderate only because it is a packed dirt road and not a narrow uneven trail with switchbacks. Even living at 8000 feet for a year, I still was out of breath and stopped frequently. people visiting from the lowlands had a hard time. Just beware, it's not as easy as described

Easy to moderate hike. Gravel road almost the entire route. This connects to several hikes as well. Great views of Aspen and nearby mountains.

It’s basically a windy gravel road up a little mountain! It has LOTS of incredible views and even an observation deck and bench where you can stop for a bit. The trail is well kept and easy to navigate but i probably wouldn’t do this one again bc it was just a little too easy. Great for beginners though! And also great for dogs off leash!!

Took the hunter creek trail up and looped around to smuggler on the way down. Views of the mountains with ski runs and downtown aspen below were so beatific on sunny day. Snow made it a little muddy but snow views were worth it! Uh-ohh somersault jump!
