I went counter clockwise on the loop. It's mostly sidewalk the whole way. It takes you way out by the front gate. I didn't really enjoy hiking next to the blvd. You get some nice views of the rockies and the reservoir. It started to get interesting when the path loops by the beach but it doesn't stay there long. Best for cycling. One and done.

Not many bugs out and very pretty views.

Perfect walk for mid 60’s day. No shades, asphalt all the way, so this should be done when it’s cool/cold. The starting point was closed, as well as the way back(see photo) so you can start from by where the restroom is. Bigger parking spot anyway. 04/25/2020 #9

Southeast corner of the loop is closed for maintenance and must follow the road to get back to the parking lot. About half of the hike parallels a noisy highway but the first half is beautiful. Would suggest taking the left fork onto the loop against the water and doubling back on the north side to avoid the road noise and closed section of the trail.

Part of trail closed and all bathrooms closed. You can still complete the trail but must use the road

We took our two dogs on this trail and it was great! Easy walk with beautiful views. Partially paved/partially dirt. I’m glad we went early as there was not a lot of shade, I wouldn’t take the dogs in the afternoon.

very well kept and maintained. nice little swim area for the kiddos with a little playground as well. So much to see, and if you go when they open not a lot of foot/bicycle traffic. 10 dollar day parking pass.

Fun walk to the lake.
