Short hike in Cheyenne Canyon to some interesting falls. Take the trail that leads up above Helen Hunt Falls. Continue up the hillside on this trail as it does a couple of switchbacks. Cross a small bridge near the end and head out to the overlook surrounded by a rock wall. These falls are beautiful when flowing strong, but dry up quickly to a trickle.

Short trail, mostly covered by stairs. There are some decent views up at the top with scenic viewpoints. There was little water when I was there, so there wasn't much action from the cascades.

Fun little hike! Wasn’t expecting the stairs, so keep that in mind, it is a very man developed trail and there are a lot of steps, some are slippery because of gravel. Brought my 2 & 4 YOs and my 12 YO dog, and they loved it, we made it all the way to the top! We had a blast sliding down the “slippery” rocks at the top and enjoying the beautiful views!

Good tourist trail. Gets better and more adventurous with steep trail, rock, and gravel if you continue past the ending where the stream begins to thicken and people begin to sit on the rocks. Have to be careful going past that part though as the gravel is very loose, going down especially. Worth it for the views if not doing any other trails in the area. My biggest complaint is that there is no big sign saying don’t drink the water due to giardia. We didn’t see the small notice on the chalkboard windows of the visitor center until after the hike and after our dog had refreshed herself with spring water. Now she has diarrhea :(

It's just an okay hike/trail - I mean the first 10 seconds into the trail you're already at the waterfall lol - after that it's about a 0.5 miles hike straight upwards a bunch of stairs to get to the top viewpoint (which I think is worth it but could be better). You minus well do the whole thing while you're there. Not great/not bad but a good way to end the day after completing two other trails before this one.

The rating on this trail has been adjusted to easy. When comparing the rating of other moderates in the area, a .7 nicely built tourist trail doesnt compare to the 8+ mile round trip trails up mountains with cliff edge rocky paths. I am not putting down this BEAUTIFUL 5 star trail, however, I just wanted to adjust the difficulty level to keep it consistent with the Colorado Springs area.

A nice place to go for a walk.. not a long walk.. but a good walk up the steps and down them.

I love that this is near water. It was peaceful and close by!

there's a lookout with a rock wall where they have park benches to enjoy the view. During the winter months you can see people ice climbing up the falls.

A good warm-up for more experienced hikers, or a good first hike for beginners. During warmer months, and especially weekends, the lower portion (Helen Hunt falls) can get fairly crowded.

Nice trail for first timer on the area.

Pretty easy trail. The loose gravel on the way down makes it interesting at times.

The Trail is well kept but it should definitely be listed as moderate. The hike is short (30 min at sedate pace) but the climb is steep. Depending on weather conditions can be slippery/icy. Come prepared and wear appropriate shoes.

Would rate this as moderate as the rating on the trailhead sign says. A beautiful hike. Stunning views.

From the top of the Helen Hunt Falls, you have the option to hike to the upper falls (Silver Cascade). The trail is very clearly marked and beautifully maintained. There are several benches along the way for anyone new to hiking or just needing to catch their breath. The trail ends at the Cascade and a beautiful overview of the valley.

Like I said, not at all challenging, but certainly a great place to take people who may not be confident hikers.

This short easy trail gives great views of Helen Hunt Falls and of the canyon. The trail itself moves through a pine and spruce forest giving it good shade. Trail 360 on YouTube

Short trek to the top above Helen Hunt falls. Busy but beautiful. Parking is hard to find any time of day, mostly due to folks stopping to see the falls at the base of the hike. A lot of stairs to the top. Not all that easy on the way up. Trail is not labeled.

Performed a modified hike that included this trail on 28 March 2015. Nice hike up to the top and the water was flowing at a pretty good rate with since the snow was melting higher up. I would definitely classify this as a more Intermediate to difficult trail due to the steep incline.

No signs. Presumably this is the Helen Hunt falls trail. Very crowded and steep incline with steps, not safe for toddlers. A 12 year old girl almost died in late 2016 after a 75 ft fall! Not easy. Hopefully you don't get lost since there is no actual sign of this trail anywhere. I've done many Colorado hikes and this was the worst - a total disappointment for Mother's Day. Go on a real hike and not a tourist trap.

Short, family hike. Lots of kiddos on this trail. Crowded. Stairs and resting spots make it even easier for the little hikers. Pretty views.

This hike was a lot of fun. The stairs made it easy to climb and benches along the way are great for enjoying the view or resting.

Easy climb with lots of people around. Scrambling on the rocks above the falls added more challenge and less people.
