Short hike in Cheyenne Canyon to some interesting falls. Take the trail that leads up above Helen Hunt Falls. Continue up the hillside on this trail as it does a couple of switchbacks. Cross a small bridge near the end and head out to the overlook surrounded by a rock wall. These falls are beautiful when flowing strong, but dry up quickly to a trickle.

A very easy hike surrounded by beautiful views. Lots of stairs and loose gravel. I watched two people slip and fall. Wear good shoes!

Great little trail, you climb rather quickly and it's a bit strenuous to the top but overall pretty easy

stopped here after doing May's peak to see the falls with my two dogs. very crowded with a lot of narrow areas so wasnt the best with the pooches in tow. the views were fairly nice and the hike is easy and relaxing. unfortunately I was waiting for a while for a bunch of groups to come up a narrow set of stairs and right as i finally started to descend a man with a large Shepard decides to ascend at the same time... I back up and wait for him to cross and he let's his shepherd get in my dogs' face and there was some reactivity. not a great way to end a walk. I try to use courtesy and be polite on trails i just wish others would do the same. not a walk I'd ever do again but its nice to see the falls.

The trail was very slick on the way back down!! There was lots of gravel making it hard to get traction.

Nice, easy trail good for all ages. The trail was in good shape and our 6 and 8 year old kids handled it well. Lots of fun and recommended.

Really nice hike that begins at the top of the Helen Hunt falls. Stepped and has railings. Absolutely beautiful at the top! There are some benches at the top with a viewing area. You can start in the parking lot, go to top of the Silver Cascades trail, and be back down in 20-30 min.

Me Fred and Eli. Hike follows the river up. After the end of Helen Hunt trail go up rocks and connect to another longer trail. Good place for hammocks

Short trail, mostly covered by stairs. There are some decent views up at the top with scenic viewpoints. There was little water when I was there, so there wasn't much action from the cascades.

Fun little hike! Wasn’t expecting the stairs, so keep that in mind, it is a very man developed trail and there are a lot of steps, some are slippery because of gravel. Brought my 2 & 4 YOs and my 12 YO dog, and they loved it, we made it all the way to the top! We had a blast sliding down the “slippery” rocks at the top and enjoying the beautiful views!

Good tourist trail. Gets better and more adventurous with steep trail, rock, and gravel if you continue past the ending where the stream begins to thicken and people begin to sit on the rocks. Have to be careful going past that part though as the gravel is very loose, going down especially. Worth it for the views if not doing any other trails in the area. My biggest complaint is that there is no big sign saying don’t drink the water due to giardia. We didn’t see the small notice on the chalkboard windows of the visitor center until after the hike and after our dog had refreshed herself with spring water. Now she has diarrhea :(

It's just an okay hike/trail - I mean the first 10 seconds into the trail you're already at the waterfall lol - after that it's about a 0.5 miles hike straight upwards a bunch of stairs to get to the top viewpoint (which I think is worth it but could be better). You minus well do the whole thing while you're there. Not great/not bad but a good way to end the day after completing two other trails before this one.

The rating on this trail has been adjusted to easy. When comparing the rating of other moderates in the area, a .7 nicely built tourist trail doesnt compare to the 8+ mile round trip trails up mountains with cliff edge rocky paths. I am not putting down this BEAUTIFUL 5 star trail, however, I just wanted to adjust the difficulty level to keep it consistent with the Colorado Springs area.

A nice place to go for a walk.. not a long walk.. but a good walk up the steps and down them.

I love that this is near water. It was peaceful and close by!

there's a lookout with a rock wall where they have park benches to enjoy the view. During the winter months you can see people ice climbing up the falls.

A good warm-up for more experienced hikers, or a good first hike for beginners. During warmer months, and especially weekends, the lower portion (Helen Hunt falls) can get fairly crowded.

Pretty easy trail. The loose gravel on the way down makes it interesting at times.

The Trail is well kept but it should definitely be listed as moderate. The hike is short (30 min at sedate pace) but the climb is steep. Depending on weather conditions can be slippery/icy. Come prepared and wear appropriate shoes.

Would rate this as moderate as the rating on the trailhead sign says. A beautiful hike. Stunning views.
