Short periods of shade but mostly sun exposed. Street parking only.

This is another fantastic hike for hikers of all experience levels. For a regular hiker this trail is perfect for a quick few miles, but it would also be great to take people who are visiting from out of town!

First time trying this trail, definitely a nice easy-moderate one. 95% of the trail was dry, there was some mud patches here and there but nothing you couldn’t just step over. Parking was limited, I got there around 7:30am and got lucky with a single spot at the front.

Great trail - a little in muddy in some spots. Nice for beginners. The only downside is that the parking fills up quickly as it’s only street parking.

First time doing this trail today. Not bad, kind of easy. The route I will take next time will be at the beginning. instead of going straight, I will make a left and follow that directly to Lower Big Bluestem, and just follow that to Mesa Trail. This will make it a much better hike as you will be hiking upwards and ascending up until you get back to the Shanahan North Fork Trail. It was almost just a nice 'walk' today going the other way. There was some ascending trail, but definitely not as much had I started out going this way.

Muddy in a few places

A nice local trail. Some spots of good inclines, but overall a moderate hike. Trail was 85% dry - the muddy spots were easy to navigate around. We arrived at 7:15 am on a Sunday and there were about 10 other cars. Folks on the trail did a good job of distancing and wearing masks when walking by other hikers. When we left there were nearly 30+cars.

The trail was a little muddy today, but it was easy to navigate around the wet areas. It leaned more towards easy than moderate. Pretty wooded throughout, with a few clearings. Not the best hike in the area for views, but the scenery did have a calming effect. Moderately trafficked today.

Good views - a bit muddy and snowy in parts.

We came after 10” of snow the 2 days before, so the trail was very muddy and snowy, but it was a beautiful hike with the elevation changes being very manageable. Gorgeous views and tree cover. Neighborhood street parking

Fun easy trail. Lots of ways to change up length or difficulty with the many other paths it connects to. Good and steady incline that will get your heart pumping. A little muddy in some areas but overall good!

Great place although more appropriate for a trail run.

Beautiful local hike. right in town, but you feel like you get away from the noise and distractions. I took my time, my dog is getting old. Brought microspikes but didn't use them, there are some icy patches but I felt safe treading carefully. Get out and enjoy it!

Muddy in spots, but avoidable. Overall easy to moderate trail

Beautiful scenery along this trail and a perfect moderate ascent for a quick workout. Sections of ice and mud and would recommend traction. There were a few really nice dry sections, as well. We will be back.
