Sallie Barber Mine is a 2.7 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Breckenridge, Colorado that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from May until September.
Fun quick walk. there & back in about an hour at a leisurely pace. the views from the top are worth the walk. several parking spots are available on the side of the road at the trailhead
For an “Easy” trail, I am not sure how it could be any better if you add in the “Trail of Tears” up to the Weber Gulch Trail. Very nice blend of well developed trail, mining history and clean beautiful Forrest.
Easy trail with only a few other hikers and mountain bikers. Steady incline but not steep, easy enough for kiddos. Trail is a gravel path without much shade but wasn't a problem for us as it was an overcast day. Mine at top was interesting to explore.
Great hike and beautiful scenery. Show as moderate but didn’t seem particularly difficult
road was closed 1.7 miles to the trailhead and there’s a small mining tour area so i parked there, tried to walk up the road i was supposed to drive until it literally turned into a bike trail which i followed until i ended up back in the parking lot.
Beautiful trail with stunning views along the way, especially at the top scenic area by the old mine. I hesitated giving 5 stars, due to buzzing power lines, but it was quite pretty! The dogs enjoyed a drink from the stream coming and going. The last two hills before the mine are a bit of a challenge for a non-altitude acclimated hiker! Would recommend!
This hike was a blast, we went today and the weather was perfect! The views were crystal clear, the hike is not strenuous and we hardly saw anyone. Highly recommend this hike in the winter if you want a nice hike that is fairly simple and don’t forget to bring your camera!
This trail is ideal for anyone who wants an easy hike through the woods. Not much elevation gain, dirt trail is currently dry. Views are okay, but besides the mine it’s mostly just forest. If you continue to the end of this trail (second part is also listed with the same name on AllTrails), you could go out and back in about 3 hrs. This trail also links up with Nightmare on Baldy, Trail of Tears (by the mine) and Weber a bit further on.
