Had some amazing waterfall views really close to the entrance. Nice easy trail for small kids with caves etc... loops around up top over the falls for another view of falls. Had a great time.

Nice easy trail to explore caves and waterfalls. Fun to explore and go off trail. The waterfalls are beautiful, especially when viewed from differing directions and viewpoints.

Completed today 5.9.20. It was very easy. Can just walk a flat gravel path right to the falls. We added in another trail and it was great. The falls are gorgeous! We went mid morning and it wasn’t too crowded but by the time we left it was packed.

The trail in deep snow was somewhat difficult to traverse but worth it to see the ice caves and frozen waterfalls. Take crampons off you’re visiting when there’s snow! Probably my favorite trail from our visit to Rifle. The ice was amazing!

Short hike, but it was a very pretty waterfall.

Very short and easy hike to an amazingly beautiful view. There were only a few other people on the trail so it was quiet with just the sound of the rushing waterfalls.

Short hike to falls from parking area. It’s cool to go up and behind falls. Caves were pretty neat as well. Easy & relaxing trail.

Beautiful views of the waterfalls from all angles. Not sure how this is “wheelchair friendly” as you have to climb up steps and rocks to get to the top of the falls.

This trail was great to explore with kids. Just the right amount of hiking for us. The caves were neat to walk through and the falls were beautiful. We will definitely visit again when we are back in Colorado.

Really enjoy this hike! It is beautiful and fun. You get to a spot up top where you can look down over the falls and it is so amazing.

Beautiful falls and surrounding rock formations, though hiking itself is limited. We took the trail up towards the fish hatchery and saw some nice small wildlife along the way.

Great stop along our road trip. The kids loved the caves and waterfalls. Definitely worth the stop. I would imagine during the summer months that it probably gets pretty crowded. We visited on April 27th and the parking lot was almost full. (There are not very many spots to begin with). There was a wedding taking place so that was probably part of it.

Not really a hike, more like a viewpoint, but the hiking trail to the right of the falls is pretty fun! Lots of caves to climb around in and a pretty view of the river at the top.

I’m surprised that this doesn’t have a higher rating on AllTrails. The falls are beautiful & there are fun short surrounding trails. Park sign says there are moose, but unfortunately we didn’t see any. Park has very limited parking.... the campsites look very nice. The $7 admission to park, includes the nearby Riffle Gap reservoir. Wish we had more time to explore, but given the limited number of ratings on this site & the mediocre overall rating — we didn’t plan much time.

I arrived early on a Wednesday morning (7AM) and there was only one other person. The park opens at 6AM, and before 8AM, you pay at the self-pay kiosk, before the attendant at the gate starts duty. Parking is very limited; only 13 spots at the trailhead. I was a bit surprised how small the park is. It’s directly off a winding country road. All that being said, the falls are beautiful. You can explore the falls from a variety of angles and the caves above. It’s a very easy hike. There’s just a bit of a commercial/tourist attraction vibe to it though.

Easy but beautiful hike. Extend the hike by taking the trail to the fish hatchery.
