01/22/20 weds. got there at 9 am on weds. no one else in lot at that point. lots of dry patches on the trail. however there is also still a lot of mud and ice and snow patches. be prepared to have your shoes or boots get muddy. and to go slow on the icy patches. very windy out today. reservoir ridge is a nice close by trail, but the views are not stunning.

pretty good mountain bike training ride. Trail is plenty wide and starts at flat and then gets into some climbing with some rocky technical sections. good for an after work ride. No shade. Just make sure you actually pump your tires, unlike me

Solid trail! Not a lot of traffic on today’s hike. A few bikers but other than that great day to get out! Trail starts out decently flat and continues like that for a few miles. Once you start to gain elevation the trails gets a lot more fun. Good distance not to far and not too long. 2 rattlesnakes seen! So be cautious for that and very little shade but overall great experience.

Nice easy trail that can be broken up into sections depending on how much time you have. Can’t beat having access to these types of areas just minutes from the house!

Very Rocky trail, so watch your footing if you're running! The shade on the west side was heaven (if you go early enough to catch it!), otherwise, lots of sun with only a few sparse trees along the way for shade. overall nice, moderate trail!

this trail is about 6 miles, not 4.8 but very enjoyable when cooler.

Went for a trail run. There were some nice dirt parts and some more difficult rocky parts of the trail. As others suggest, there isn’t much shade, but what was expected? Great views from the top of Devil’s backbone, Horsetooth Reservoir, and Fort Collins. I didn’t adhere completing the trail AllTrails laid out and ran closer to six miles by hoping on the Alt Line trail for a bit. There were a handful of other people out, but sparsely separated on the trail.
