Easy loop through the forest North of Woodland Park From the parking lot go through the access gate on the South end of the parking lot. Follow it east on a paved path for a short distance. After about 50 yards there will be a trail on the left that is fairly well worn. Take this path. After heading north a short ways you will see a trail that drops off to the right into a small valley. Follow this trail. Just before this trail reaches private property, it turns back south and heads back towards the campground. Once you reach the road head into the campground, and find the West end of the campground loop where the paved trail you started out on ends. Follow the pavement back to the parking lot. A couple of alternative trails are marked on the map in Blue and Yellow. There are lots of nice little trails in this area to follow, but be careful to keep your bearings about you.

Some of the path that the map says to take is blocked and really it would’ve been easier to find if the directions to the trail had taken me to a different parking area than it did. Once I go to where I wanted to be I really enjoyed exploring around the rock formations! I’ll have to go back a few times to be able to see it all.

We walk our dog here at least 4 times a week. Lots of different paths you can explore. You can do a 15 minute walk around the rocks or be out there for 2 hours if you would like.

Good little quick walk for the old dog so she doesn’t feel so left out
