Backpacked this over last weekend. though took a different route. Started at camp Lake Trail head treked along the river to the rawah trailhead and went up rawah trail. So conditions to the waterfall are great. No snow. But there is a little creek thats overflowing now and you have to cross it using a fallen tree. Doable but need to have good balance or you get wet. Passed this point waterfall is amazing. After we went up farther at around 9000 ft you start seeing snow and trail is super wet. We made it to the lake located at 9500 feet and camped there. There are couple spots available for camping. Overnight it snowed we decided to push on but super fast hit snow again now fully covered on trail. It was at least knee deep. We kept pushing thinking it was going to get better, but it didnt get better, snow just gets deeper and there is more of it. after making it to 1000ft we decide to turn back there was no point to continue unless you have snowshoes. Plus if we didn't have GPS no way we would have found the trail. But it was still an amazing backpacking trip. There are lots of great places to camp in the valley. Definitely will be back later in summer to finish this loop.

We planned to hike to Rawah lake 1. Around mile 6 there was quite a bit of snow to hike through. At mile 7 the ground was swampy and covered in water. The trail was covered in snow and hard to navigate. We ended up turning around and camping down the trail further.

This trail is beautiful, there was a washout at the very beginning of the trail next to the lodge. Be prepared to get a little muddy. Some wet spots throughout the trail but easy to maneuver around. Bring bug spray as the mosquitoes are horrible. We forgot ours so didn’t hike as far as we would have liked. We will be back!!!

Hiked this to Lost Lake this weekend. The worst snow was around 10,300 ft in the mile leading up to Lost Lake, but not enough to warrant snowshoes or micro spikes. Make sure to bring waterproof boots and bug spray for the next few weeks. The mosquitoes were vicious.

Twin craters lakes. Tough hike with pretty severe water crossings but the lakes were worth it. Take a look at my pics and GPX file.
