Great hike! Just be aware that there are some icy spots right now especially one area at about the mid point of Ravens Roost. The kids enjoyed sliding down it.

This was a beautiful winter hike! It was pretty icy in a couple spots, but besides that it was relatively easy with great views.

7-30-17 slight incline but great hike. Note: This trail multi use, i.e. used by horses too. It has a trail called eagle view that connects which is worth doing. Nearby is a frisbee golf course for those interested in doing a little hike and play with family too.

Enjoyable day with the family. Saw about 10 other hikers, mostly close to parking area. Extended the Ravens Roost/Oxen loop to include the shorter out and back to panoramic view of Eagle's View loop. Very worth the extra time/effort. If you want the harder vertical up Raven's Roost, turn right at the first junction. After a fairly tough climb up for our first day in Denver we began to notice all other hikers had taken a left at the junction which is less steep to the top. Rookie mistake. Some wild flowers, lots of butterflies, loud grasshoppers, a woodpecker, some really interesting red/orange bird, and the cry of an eagle (didn't see the bird but heard the call close overhead).

Took the drive south-ish from the park along the Platte River through Pike National Forest to Manintou Springs after the hike.

Great fun for me and my son. Light rain the entire hike but it ended up making the whole experience more peaceful and cool.

Taking the Eagle trail to the top of the ridge is worth the hike. At the trail head, there is plenty of paved parking and restrooms.

Really enjoyed this hike - perfect sunny June afternoon spot that's not too crowded with easy parking. I went with my 75 year old dad and good friend and our kids. She and I both carried our 21lb. baby sons plus packs and our group was able to complete the hike and feel CO legit. The views at the top of Eagle View Trail were truly beautiful and worth the effort. My tracking had the total hike at .2 miles longer than the GPS says here but no complaints. Recommend the shady side (left side?) of the hike both up and down to avoid exposure and some scree.

First hike of the season. A little muddy on the way up, and fairly steep going up, then easy on the way down. Took our dogs and they loved it. Not too crowded, but busy.

Very enjoyable hike today. My nephew from Florida was with us he also enjoyed. Probably would've been nice two weeks ago with all the colors.

Really pretty trial and eagle view at the top was totally worth it. It was moderately strenuous. Love the town of Conifer too!

Trail was really well maintained, lots of parking, not too many people. Challenging in a fun way. Definitely go to Eagle's view; 180 degree views were stunning at top. Road is easy to navigate and it's easy to find.

Today was a great day to go hiking there. Beautiful hiking, tough to get up for short time then walked around til the view spot....now that was worth it. Beautiful view southwest part of the mountains. Will return back for sure! We hiked on Eagleview trail with mix of Oxen and Roast. A must hike would be Eagleview in order to see the beautiful view

Well-maintained trail with a steady, steep
ascent. Great mix of sun and shade; lots of wildflowers. Beautiful peak views from the top of Eagle's Nest trail. The picnic areas and bathrooms are very clean, and there is plenty of parking.

Great hike! Eagle View loop had gorgeous views. Took my three kids 7, 11, and 13 and they managed it pretty well! Definitely will do it again!

Beautiful hike! Especially if you tie in Eagle View Loop! You come around the corner at the top and get a great view including Pikes Peak in the distance! We decided to make that our view while we took a small break to eat our snacks. Plenty of wildflowers and small animals to see, along with several stream crossings that can refresh your dog if you choose to bring them.

It's one of my favorite local hikes. If you want some pretty views, head up Eagles View Trail. You'll see the views at .5 miles. Then you can continue around and descend down the loop back to the parking lot. It adds about another mile to the hole.

Hiked this trail on 2-27 for the wife's birthday, started around 8am and only saw 1 other hiker while there. We went the southern route Elkhorn to Oxen Draw first (turning left at the trail split just past the campgrounds). The trail was covered in hard packed snow all the way until where Oxen Draw meets Raven's Roost. Past that point the sun reached a lot more of the trail so snow was present but spotty. Some of the trail had clearly melted and refrozen as slippery ice sheet. We didn't have any traction gear with us and were fine, but it just required a little more caution where you stepped. If doing the full Eagle's View loop I suggest at least turning down Raven's Roost trail for the short distance to the Kennedy Gulch overlook, and then backtracking to pick up where you left off. This was a fairly easy trail and well worth the short drive from Denver.

Early October on a weekday was a perfect time to do this trail. I only saw one other hiker the whole time I was there. The rolling paths were pretty through the trees working up to the view from Eagle's nest, which was beautiful. A little bit of water at the parking lot, but not much else if you are bringing a dog. Also looked like a great area for a trail run.

Contrary to the reviews on here I found it pretty easy to find the trailhead and to go from there. Great views, make sure to bring your sunscreen, not a lot of coverage. Bring your camera, because the view at the top is incredible! I would recommend going early in the morning, on the way up, there were only 3 people on the trail but on the way down there were dozens coming my way.

Great views on Eagle's Nest. Raven's Roost is pretty steep to start - probably more gradual if you go counter clockwise.
