The gate was open last weekend but got stuck in my AWD SUV twice trying to get to the trail due to the deep snow on the road. Thank you again to the awesome people that helped get us going again! Excited to try the trail when the snow is gone!

Nice hike to several lakes. We went with boys aged 8, 3 and 3. Took us about 2 hours RT (3.5 mi). Busy and beautiful October Sunday!

Hiked 9/29/19. Beautiful trail the drive up was absolutely gorgeous with all the aspens peaking! The road up was rocky and a little washed out but nothing my Subaru Outback couldn’t handle. Super easy hike, with 4 different lakes to stop by and relax. Little muddy near the water, but that’s to be expected. I went near sunset and there weren’t any bugs! Hiked with the pup and she loved it as well!

This was an amazing hike, not so hard and such a beautiful scenery. Well taken care of and for a early Sunday it was very quiet and peaceful not til later in the afternoon did people start showing up when it got warmer! Overall this was such a fun hike will do again

Trail was great, easy nice hike to just get out into the wilderness. Road to get up there was a pretty rough, recommend an suv or truck as cars were going really slow.

Awesome easy hike! By myself most of the day! Saw maybe 5 people all day. Dirt road in wasn’t fun but it is what it is. Maybe that’s why it’s not crowded plus for me.

A lovely, relatively easy trail with 3+ lakes. Our pup loved the water, and the views are gorgeous.

Great hike for families with kids. FYI the last 4 miles of road to the trail is pretty rough in some areas

The hike was nice, but there are dog poop bags everywhere. The trail was also very rocky so be prepared.

Easy hike with the kids. Classic Indian Peaks: great forests but very rocky trail. I can see little kiddos tripping on rocks, etc. Fun fishing for brookies at the last lake. Caught three on dry flies. Don’t waste your time at the first lake.

Great hike with small kids. Not to difficult at all, lots to see and the lakes are a great pay off. Highly recommend for anyone.

Lovely short hike, good for families, good reward for not tons of effort. A little rocky here and there but nothing terrible.

A short, pleasant little trail that leads to nice views. Good for a day hike, less good for backpacking due to the density of the trees and rocky terrain as these characteristics make a good campsite hard to find. Also, most of the water you will find is stagnant. Still, very pretty, if a touch crowded. Fishing seems popular here, as does the campground. Note: If you are using the campground, don't count on there being toilet paper available at the pit toilets. I recommend packing some.

Just okay for me. Not a lot of views until the lake.

This hike was what we expected for the length and rating, we were looking for an easy day. In general, the trail was rocky and in spots not well defined. Lots of mosquitoes. The lakes were marshy and the last lakes where accessed via a boulder field.

The road to the trailhead is rough. I have a Rouge and still don't know how my suspension is doing ok. The trail is nice, but I don't know that it's worth putting your car through the rocky road. If you do hike this trail, make sure you have waterproof shoes/boots or chacos because there's a few areas you have to cross where the river flows.

This is not a 2.5 mile trail. Closer to 1.4 miles. Pretty creek crossing and some optional fun scrambles. Great first backcountry trip for children. It's been a wet season so there's less space to walk circling the lakes than there may otherwise be and lots of gnats.
