Nice trail ... good workout. For the 2nd year in a row we managed to be on the trail picked for the 100mi marathon run. Lots of nice folks in the run. Wildlife included a nice sage grouse, deer, eagle and hawks. Smoke was clearing, so visibility was greatly improved.

Easy to walk up except for the lose dirt road that makes you slide around and the altitude jump at the end. Spectacular view at the top.

Hard? Yes and no. There are a few seriously steep parts that I needed to rest on the way up and shuffle sideways to go down. The trail is all dirt road. There are a few spots to camp up there if you don't mind foot traffic in your tiny spot. definitely sunny and dusty. The rock was cool; the view not as spectacular as others but still worth it. Great hike. Moderate hike imo. Very sunny, not a whole lot of shade so bring sunscreen! Beautiful views!

This walk is hard to beat. Absolutely beautiful. I'm 71 and loved every minute of the walk. Only wildlife we saw were birds, chipmunks and butterflies.

AWESOME hike!! Wildflowers were BEAUTIFUL!! You should be in good shape to do this hike and shoes with soles that grip- like hiking shoes recommended. Take water/ snacks/rain jacket- always be prepared for weather. A small rain cloud formed on a day with 0% chance of rain- well there was a little rain.

Easy hike if you're in decent shape. Great view at the top after 20ft scramble.

Beautiful trail. Starts easy and gets significantly more difficult by the end of the trail.

Note: the trail can be shared by ATV's and other vehicles as well. We didn't see any, but there are tracks all the way up the trail.

We hiked this 6 days ago. This trail is moderate imo. The steep parts are not too long. Start early to avoid overheating. There are some shady spots, but much of it is open. The flowers are stunning. Expect dogs and 4 wheelers.

Good views from the top sun cleared up, if you are acclimated to the elevation it's not hard except the very end.

Pretty once you get to the top, very hot and exposed, but overall a good hike!

Great trail. I tracked 2.9 miles to the base of the "ears". It is a continuous uphill hike with the last half mile very steep. If you are overweight and not used to 10,000' elevation, this is not the place for you. Otherwise, great hike!!!!

Still a good amount of snow on the north-facing portions, and blustery at the top, but a great hike overall.

Great trail. Still snow for more than half of the trek in early June. Beautiful views! A must do.

Great views! Love being able to take the dogs up with me.

Tried to 4x4 up the road, had to stop, and hike the rest. It was absolutely beautiful.

Great hike with beautiful views and wildflowers along the path. We saw a herd of sheep and lots of chipmunks. The last part of the hike is steep, but manageable. There was a problem with the location where the alltrails app placed the trailhead- it showed as just short of the peak.

Great hike! Moose, Moose and calf, humming birds and bees on the flowers, and chipmunks galore.
Hiked it with my 10 and 12 year old boys, all the way to the top. I would definitely rate it as moderate. It is very steep in areas. NOTE: don't let the small part of scrambling at the top keep you from the ears. You scramble about 5-7 feet up and then have a flat path to the edge of the ears. My 10 yr old lead the way! Amazing views in all directions!!
