I did this mountain biking. I had never been mountain biking before so this trail was very challenging and overwhelming. This was just because I was inexperienced. I was exhausted at the end but mostly because I was working hard and was also scared. Saw some experienced bikers pass us having a blast through the trail. Had some great views of the mountains.

Rode this trail with 17yr old son, and what a Great ride! First part is a little grueling with the climb, but well worth the effort for some great down hill biking. Recommend for Intermediate to Advanced riders only. Awesome views of Telluride.

Its a long stretch but interesting trail- def what a prospector might use. Awesome for bikes too. The uphill is gradual and has some exposure but safe. There are 2 nasty quick hikes that are steep - otherwise its long and covers some territory. Being plenty of water. My 4 yr old crushed most of it but the 2yr old was on my shoulders so be active and somewhat experienced. Bring lots of water and a snack. Its a great bike ride but a fulfilling hike. Safe for kids. Both biking and hiking i have seen a lot of wildlife.

There are better trails around town for hikers. This has some nice views and varying terrain, but probably better for mountain biking.

Good hike. Great views after mile 3 In the talus field. Then great views of Wilson Peak and Sunshine Mountain. Pay attention to the map because it's easy to get sidetracked if you follow the bike tracks. (I ended up over a mile SW because I didn't prepare)

Trail is well marked. Not out and back which is good. Not much of a grade, also nice. However, clearly caters to mountain biking, views are limited and can get monotonous. Hiking on the slopes not aesthetically pleasing IMO. I would rate it 3 stars if it was only 4-5 miles.

This is one of the best stretches of singletrack in the Telluride area. You start at the top of the free gondola, and several excellent climbs and descents take you to the top of the Lynx Lift, the high point of the ride. From there, an amazing descent will take you back through the forest to Mountain Village. There is also an option to leave the resort towards the ghost town of Alta. You then will have over 3000 vertical of descent on rogue singletrack and the Sunshine Trail down to the Illium Road. An easy pedal up the Galloping Goose takes you back to the town of Telluride.
