We did this as a welcome to CO we have just driven very far and are tired beyond belief. The goal was short with high reward. This did not disappoint!

No longer recommend - starting TODAY, the city ended the trail after 0.5 miles, so the trail map needs to be updated. Now the only way to enjoy the view from the top of Prospect Mountain is to PAY to ride the tram... (signed, unhappy resident of Estes Park)

This is a great trail! Fairly easy after you get over the initial steepness at the beginning. Views from the top are AMAZING especially considering the ease of this hike. Definitely one of my favorites.

The beginning is very loose ,no cover and steep, then after you pass the homes and the trail gets very nice, still going up but shade, nicer path. We went up yesterday, awesome views from the summit.

An easy-to-get-to "go to" trail for locals when they've got just a couple of hours and want to get their heart rates up. Interesting meanderings at the top. Head to the points on the west side for the best views of RMNP.

Good moderate hike. Trail was lightly snow covered. I did it in winter boots without spikes and was fine. Trail didn’t appear to be marked. I used previous hiker footprint and the all trail GPS to keep me on track. The lot and trail are right next to those aqua color looking shed. Trail starts right to the left of it if you are facing the shed. Overall good hike. Very windy on top today.

chickened out halfway through as I was losing daylight and it took a lot longer to hike than I anticipated. this is at the higher end of a "moderate" rating, it's quite steep and a little technical.

Great trail few icy spots but could go around them easy. No snow until the top but follow people’s tracks and it’s no problem. Seen nobody and had some great views for a short hike.

The trail was beautiful and fairly easy to follow. There are a few icy spots, but easy to pass. It’s rated moderate and I’d say moderate to hard, but that’s because I am from Dallas so the altitude and being out of shape made it tougher. Great viewpoint at the top!
