Nice trail. Sand is dry and soft in areas. Be sure to air down. Doable in a stock 4WD. Not overly technical.

4runner TRD Pro Didn't sit down and was fine but you gotta be prepared to send it at mile 2.8, some real soft sand there so don't be timid with that gas peddle

The trail was open all of the way through today. There were a few nice stream crossings at points maybe 20 inches deep. It was a neat trail, the trail coming out of it leading to the county road was a lot of fun also. 2008 Jeep JKU 35" Grabber X3 tires rear locker, did not air down at all did not need to use winch. 7-23-19

Found this trail to be quite nice. Views were absolutely stunning. Several water crossings but not bad for a stock Wrangler. Will definitely come back again.

Did the trail all the way from Great sand Dunes up and over onto county road 559 (south of Bradford). Going up and over the pass was doable in a 4x4 Wrangler without having to air down or up but the sand was damp from previous rains. We couldn’t turn on 69 south however because the bridge was washed out headed to 25. We ended up going to Westcliffe to make our way to CO Springs. The whole route over the pass is about 22 miles with the last 1/4 being on private lands (signage will definitely let you know when you get to that point)

Great easy 4x4 trail with camping. We ran this many years ago with a group of friends. 4x4 Low and air down your tires. Watch water crossings during snow melt they can get high. Take a compressor so you can air down for sand and back up some for the trail. If you go with your friends who have a Discovery 2 make sure they know how to engage 4x4 low. LOL

Took our off-road Tacoma on this trail yesterday - such a blast! There are quite a few stream crossings but shouldn't be an issue if clearance is high enough. Definitely a good amount of rough/rocky terrain, nothing we couldn't handle but not the most comfortable. Park ranger mentioned not to drop the pressure in your tires TOO much, you do have to go over some very sandy portions of the trail but still need to maneuver rocks as well! Apparently a few people didn't listen and ended up with a dented rim.

Beautiful yellow aspen covering the whole mountain side. We took this from 69 to the dunes in a suburban. One part was sketchy but we made it just fine. A few creek crossings towards the west side by the dunes. The road was very rocky, rough and steep. Took about 3 hours. A memorable trail I highly recommend.
