Watson the little dog and I enjoyed this trail. We hung a hammock in an aspen grove and enjoyed relaxing while listening to a little stream and the wind in the trees. The climb is really just the first mile or so, then the hike is gentle ups and downs.

A nice view of Estes Valley. The drive up and surrounding areas are private property, and as soon as you cross the gate to National Forest there were tent campers around. Due do this (I’m guessing) there was trash and litter along trail, which was too bad. More car traffic than anticipated but we didn’t encounter other hikers.
