Beautiful, winding trail! Mostly single track. You go through some burned areas from the fires last fall and it definitely still smells like smoke after 2.5-3 miles in from north parking lot. This trail and the Wild Turkey/Ponderosa loop IS OPEN. Everything south of these three trails is still closed for fire damage.

The trail incline is very gradual which is nice. It’s fairly rocky in spots and very narrow making the multitude of mountain bikes trying to get around us a bit of an issue for hikers.

Definitely open, but still has sections closed. A traffic jam of mountain bikes so hiker beware - bur everyone is really nice about it! Beautiful hike. Muddy in spots

Enjoyed the mtb ride probably upper beginner to intermediate. Some tougher but enjoyable rock sections . Narrow in some areas so call out /pay attention for others.

7-19-20 7:30pm Great ride as always but on my way down around the 3 mile marker there were two rattle snakes in the middle of the trail standing their ground hissing and rattle their hearts way. Be careful!

Completed on 4/10. This trail should really be for bikers/horseback riders only. Nice area, but I will not hike this section again.

This trail is beautiful the way it meanders from desert to Colorado forest. Wild turkeys, deer, and stunning birds along the way. Its mainly a mountain bike trail but I didn’t mind yielding to bikers!

beautiful trail, good amount of shade, lots of bikers, which usually means lots of moving to the side.

This trail is full of cyclists on a nice day, few of whom yield for hikers (even when they’re barreling downhill at you). Guess it’s great on a bike but it’s obnoxious for hiking. Super easy trail otherwise.

Hiking

Easy trail but lots of bikes. Had to step off trail every 50 yards making the hike very unenjoyable. The bikes should have to stop and let hikers pass not the other way around. Everyone was courteous but I won't go back as a hiker.

This is a great trail for running but I must say I think 'moderate' is quite the stretch. This trail is very chill and the elevation gain is SO gradual. Very sunny, not a ton of shade. I actually clocked 5.2 miles to the bench overlook.

Nice, easy hike. (Mostly bicyclists -- looks like a great bike trail. The path is narrow, but it's easy to step aside. Everyone was very courteous.) The first mile is open prairie (sunny.) The second mile gets little more interesting -- some shrubs and flowers. The third mile provides denser, thicker greenery to hike through -- nice mix if sun and shade. I only went about half-way (before the zig-zaggy looking part of the map) but what I hiked was flat and easy the whole way. 2.50 hours round trip for me to the half-way point and back.

11:30 start on a 90°+ day. Too hot for this low, exposed trail. would be Wonderful on cooler day or much earlier or evening.
