HikingGreat!

Relatively easy trail with some elevation gain. I hiked parmalee to devils elbow and back on meadow view at 12 pm on a Sunday in September and barely saw any people until I got back to meadow view. Mostly sunny on parmalee but shaded through devils elbow / old Ute trail. Would recommend for a quick day hike in evergreen.

HikingGreat!

Started on Parmalee and headed back to Devil’s Elbow. Saw a huge buck at the top of the Devil’s Elbow south side. Walked a little further to the pass through the fence and saw two black bear about 100 yards to the southwest! They carried on their business and I kept walking but what an amazing sight to see! I will be posting a video including the video I got of the bears to YouTube. YouTube: Trail89adventures

Great moderate hike! The elevation changes are real (up and down, up and down). Get there early for parking. Good shade, but also open spots. Worth going all the way to the Devils Elbow!

Took a wrong turn at some point hiking and stayed on castle trail the whole time.. starting at the west trailhead this is 100% downhill and you guessed it, 100% uphill on the way back. Talk about a surprise! Hahah 7.8 miles round trip. Not recommended lol

Great moderate trail. The views look like they’d be pretty awesome - too hazy to see clearly today due to wildfires.

Awesome hike that’s easily drivable from Denver. Elevation has some steeper spots, but it was generally pretty steady. Got some really good views of the city and surrounding landscapes.

VERY crowded but beautiful. Did a short loop bc of the heat with my dog. Great views. Get there early!

Parmalee is a nice quiet choice at Mt. Falcon and the trail to Devil’s Elbow offers a pleasantly shaded route to a dramatic overlook.

Great trail and work out! Had plenty of shady spots for our dog to take a rest. Got there at 8:40 am and had the last spot in the lot. By the time we left some of the bigger trails were crowded. Great views!

Nice workout. Exactly 5.2 miles. Lots of sun but shade when needed. Awesome views of red rocks. The way to Devils Thumb is a lot less crowded than once you are back on the main loop. I would suggest to get here by 8:30 on weekends. I had the last parking spot at 8:30

This was a great trail run! I loved how it was rolling ups and downs. I went counterclockwise (Parmalee trail to start) and it was really nice. I went on a Thursday around 12pm and there weren’t many people on this trail, even though the parking lots were pretty full.

Some stretches wear heavy sun exposure, but also some heavy forested spots. I would say 68% of the time exposed to sun. Wear some sun block and have some more water than you think. Some steep long stretches you might want to pause after

Such a nice little workout close to Denver. It was short and sweet and not terribly crowded, even midday on a Saturday (thanks to the sheriff metering cars). Would do again! Trail was clean and in/out of shade the whole time. Nice breeze, perfect weather!

Great trail for our 2yr old! We went counterclockwise and he hiked the first two miles. Not too crowded compared to other trails at the park. Get there before 10 for parking

fantastic trail, close to Denver. would advise going ccw on parmalee due to hiking traffic. perfectly undulating, mostly smooth trail for trail runners. encountered a herd of deer that were downright friendly. a+ would recommend
