A short and easy paved trail to two wonderful overlooks with a 360 degree view from Mesa Verde's highest point. An added point of interest is the old fire lookout station located between the two overlooks.

Short steep walk and let’s you see a 360 of the surrounding lands from high up.

The trail to the fire lookout was paved and uphill. Great views from the top and evidence of past fires. But flowers were blooming and the underbrush was green and rejuvenating the area. For some reason, lots of bugs. Worth the short climb for the views and when we went the firetower was manned by the park service.

This is a short paved trail with an easy climb to an old fire lookout station at the highest elevation in Mesa Verde National Park (8,572 feet). There are two spectacular overlooks, one facing north and the other south. If the weather cooperates, the southern vista includes a view of four states (Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah). Be sure to look for Shiprock rising in the distance in New Mexico.
