I didn’t do the full length of this but stopped at a high point about 2.5 miles in. This is an excellent workout hike and once past the second reservoir you probably won’t run into anyone. The trail is badly eroded in places but that is the nature of the decomposing granite trails common in the greater Pikes Peak area.

Beautiful hike, but no payoff and trail is blown out much of the way.

There’s no parking at the trail head. I parked at an elementary school a couple blocks away. Much of the trail during the later part of the hike was not well maintained—there were numerous trees that had fallen across the trail and needed to be either climbed over, crawled under, or skirted, and the trail was difficult to find at times—and a lot of it was very loose, gravelly and sandy ground (which can be very difficult when it’s a steep grade). But all in all, it was a lovely hike.
