Good for easy hiking and snowshoeing. Hiking in canyons carved thousands of years ago. Snow capped mountains. Views of Wichita mountain and Chief mountain.

1-17-2020. Trail was packed down very well. It’s about a two foot wide trail, so when people are coming and you step off expect to go knee deep in snow! Hiked it crampons from tenmile trail head all the way to the eagles nest wilderness sign - start of the white river national forest. Saw people with snowshoes but I personally didn’t find it necessary beautiful quiet trail.

Very pretty hike without a lot of elevation. You can go much further than the app says. No need for snowshoes until about 2.5 miles in, then they are a must! Pretty Windy at open areas around mile 4, but gorgeous views!

fairly good snow cover but still a few exposed rocks, so still be a bit careful when touring or snowshoeing.

Lots of snow but not too deep. We used our Yax the entire time and ere very glad we had them. Plenty of icy spots under the fresh snow, so be careful!

Enjoyed the trail yesterday using micro spikes. There are some dry dirt areas in the beginning as you head uphill, but then you are on ice and packed snow. The creek is flowing in some areas, others are frozen. Tried off trail along the creek, but the snow and downed trees sent us back up to the trail. Once the initial elevation is gained, the trail is fairly flat and takes you in and out of pines, meandering streams, and views. Great hike within an hour of the metro area. FYI- dog owners tend to have their pups off leash.

Great conditions today. Pretty snow but not overwhelming. Hiked a little beyond the Gore trail intersection and found nice virgin powder but also lots of marsh. Best to turnaround at junction. Also remember its hunting season, so dress to be seen!

The 1st mile has all the steepness and then it flattens out for the last 2 plus miles. Lots of beautiful aspen trees 1st part of the trail and a nice creek with a small waterfall at the end. this is closer to a 7 Mile round-trip hike if you go to cross of the gorge Trail.

The first mile of the hike has beautiful fall foliage. Definitely heavily trafficked but otherwise a pretty in and back with a creek/river running along most of the way.

One of the best our family of eights done! We added an good bit at the end of rhe trail to get it to 8 miles. The creek and water falls area just before the end was incredible. We had a good 45 pound pack for our supplies and it was still more than doable.

We were about a week too early for the aspens, but a few were out. The trail runs near a river most of the way, which is really nice. It goes through shady bits and meadow bits.

Nice walk. Not too strenuous. In all honesty not that memorable if you look forward to panoramic views. Most of the trail is through trees. Not obtrusive in any way but it does limit the enjoyment a little.

This is a truly marvelous, well grated trail with fantastic views of aspens Pines fields of flowers and a lovely stream the entire way. Great rocky cliffs on the way up, and wonderful views of the bigger mountains on the way down.

We started at the ten mile creek trailhead and finished at meadow creek trailhead. It was easy to moderate for the first 2/3 of the hike and then moderate to hard for the finish. The top of meadow creek is a sight to be seen with the meadow surrounded by mountains. Words do not do this sight justice, a must see with your own eyes.

Love this hike. One of my favorite in the area. Highly recommend. Moderate but not crazy difficult.

A very nice out and back trail that offers a variety of mountain scenery. Trail is rated as moderate but as other reviews have stated it would be an easy moderate to most hikers You get to enjoy groves of aspen , clear cut areas that have began their reforestation and thick pine stretches that offer there shade at the correct time. Water is prevalent along the majority of the hike and the stream offers viewing of several small waterfalls along the way. Very nice trip that can be done in less than 3 hours taking a few breaks along the way.

Nice easy hike with great views. Good for those that are not in good shape or just want to go for a nature walk.

Good light hike. Finished in 2.5 hrs with a 15 minute stop before heading back at the end of the trail. Nothing too difficult, most of the incline is in the first mile and then the trail narrows and becomes a bit more woodsy half way through.

Great trail - easy to follow with this app - overgrown a little in some spots but overall easy to get through. Fun, can get some exercise in, decent but not spectacular views, easily done in 3 hours or less. Probably on the low end of the moderate scale as far as trails go.
