No shade. Solid hike. Wind kept me cooled off. Make sure to bring enough water if you go on a hot day.

My first time on this one - if you go counter clockwise like I did, there’s a little less than a mile on and off where you’ll be hiking up but once you’re up, it’s easily runnable and after mile 5 the views are incredible. Saw only a dozen other people (between 1130-1). Keep your ears open for mountain bikers behind you. Will definitely do this again.

Such a cool spot right outside Golden! We started on the north side trail and and it was a steady incline up to the top where it was a expansive, flat mountain top. Great views of the city and foothills!

Unsure why so many comments about rim rock being closed, it’s been closed for quite some time now. Otherwise, lots of options to switch up how you get around this mountain although beware of rattle snakes in the heat and afternoon time in general!

Found a pair of sunglasses near the top this morning. If the person to whom they belong happens to check on here and see this, email me at therese.fox@colorado.edu and we can coordinate a way to get them back to you.

Absolutely no shade. Would be great for winter. Used it for hill training in mid July. Take the Table Mountain Trail around the side and then a steep left at Mesa Trail to get hill training.

Great trail, a little steep for beginners but well worth it! It gets really warm even during the early hours of 7am. Super clean bathrooms, not a lot of places to sit & rest but really a great trail overall!!!

Rimrock portion was closed. Lots and lots of bikers. Was not particularly impressed, great for distance but not very exciting after you get to the top.

The Rim Rock section is actually closed to hikers and bikers and is roped off as sensitive area. You can complete the loop using another trail and cut off about two miles

Plenty of switchbacks makes for a interesting climb up. Well worth it. Wildlife mixed with some great views. Amazing ride down for every skill set. More advanced I would say.

Great for running if you want some change in elevation. Did have to share the path with bikers, which resulted in me having to step off the path for them to pass a number of times. Wasn’t too crowded though on the whole, and a number of other runners and walkers. Beautiful views and good 8 mi outer loop (which was open today), would recommend. Got to the parking lot on a Saturday AM around 7:40, and I easily found a spot. By the time I got back to my car at 9:30, the lot was packed and cars were waiting for spots.

Rim rock loop is closed. This trail was so overrun with mountain bikes we spent most of the hike waiting on the side of the trail. Dusty and not many people wearing masks.

This exact trail is closed but it is easy enough to start this trail, follow a different trail, then get back on this trail. Would recommend!

Awesome hike, not too hard with some great views. You have to share the trails with mountain bikers which isn’t a problem until you get to the narrow trails going up and down.

Did this trail at sunset last night. The Rim Rock trail is closed thru July 31 or it would have been perfect to watch walking along the top. Lots of bikers even on a Thursday evening. Would definitely do this again! Would go left on table top and take cottonwood trail to the top and just hang out to watch sunset then go back down the same way.

Awesome bike trail for getting cardio cardio in. Plus great views with dope rock formations. We prefer counterclockwise. Tackle the big road hill first then you get in some great windy , flowy downhill. A lot of people were going the other way though too. All in direct sun so wear spf and bring lots of water or start early before it gets too hot.
