Nice 70 degrees- not bad for November in Colorado, but not unusual. Easy trail and all paved and wide in most places.

This trail is actually one of my favorites for a challenge on bike, because there are chunks that aren't super well-paved, or have some pretty decent uphill gravel climbs, and I enjoy the challenge. It also connects to the Rock Island and Cottonwood Trails, so you can easily avoid having to bike some of the streets if you're not into having to deal with distracted drivers. It also will dump you at the High Chaparral Space, which has a delightful figure eight singletrack. Downside is that it isn't super well marked, and can be confusing to find, since it does use some roads to connect to different parts of the trail. You initially have go be paying more close attention if you're trying to find parts of the trail north of Barnes and you've never gone on it before.

Love this trail, especially since it's close to my house. And it goes farther south and west than the map shows. I think it's close to 10 miles in length, although some of the southern sections are a bit sketchy in/along the drainage. The High Chaparral Open Space on the north end is very nice with great views west, south, and east.

We live in a neighborhood nearby and this is super convenient, well-maintained with pretty views and great for walking our dogs or just getting some exercise near the house.

This trail is a bit underrated! It is in the middle of the city and passes across several roads, but if you can't make a drive into the mountains it is a nice walk! The higher points of the trail have beautiful views of the mountains and neighborhoods. We have seen a few deer along the way!
