Mount Victoria, Tenmile Peak, Miners Creek is a 9.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Frisco, Colorado that features beautiful wild flowers and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from April until September.
There is no marked trail that connects Tenmile Peak to Miners Creek Trail. Be sure to record your hike to avoid getting lost.
ALERT: the trail ends at Tenmile peak, then you must create your own path down the side of the mountain and through the trees to miners road. Appears most of the reviewers did not do this route as indicated on the trail map, judging by recordings and narratives. That said, views from the top were spectacular, but as in description, I would only recommend this to very experienced individuals with sufficient risk tolerance.
07/18/20 started this trail at Frisco, went left followed peaks trail to miners creek trail. Mostly the trail ran along the miners creek crossing the creek several times, noted several camping sites along the creek as well. Elevation gain was manageable. I followed the map as highlighted here but at about 6 miles where the mapped trail breaks off the miners creek trail to bend right there was no trail. I got into the forest around the area but no single trail to cross over..I felt misled by the trail map and is the only reason I had to give it 3 stars. On my way back I met couple people and asked them about the trail crossing over and they said there was no trail there, if I had to cross over I needed to follow miners creek trail to around peak #5. Turning back to Frisco I made a total of 10.9miles. Will try this trail again but go right instead.
We started in frisco, went by Rainbow Lake and then headed up Mount Royal. It’s a pretty steep slog up to the turn off to Royal but totally worth it for the views at the top. We then went past the view spot and scrambled up the rocky point of Mt. Royal. The trail to Mt. Victoria still looked pretty snowy.
Great for a workout. Steep relentless climb. The gradient is about a 1000 feet a mile 33% grades for a while. However, yesterday at about 1500 feet up there was a wall 6 ft tall of snow and ice blocking the trail. It made continuing impossible without a long scrambling around the snow detour. Also the trail as marked in this app is completely covered with broken down logs and branches for the first half mile.
