Getting There

The Mount Muscoco trailhead is the same as Mount Cutler trailhead and the trails are the same for about a half mile until they split to go their separate ways. Wonderful views at the top. Although the trail is short it is on the more difficult side of moderate.

If you hike in winter be prepared to hike on ice.

The trailhead can be reached from Interstate 25 by taking Exit 140. Then take Tejon Street to Cheyenne Boulevard until you reach North Cheyenne Cañon. There will be parking by the trailhead on the left.

HikingGreat!

This trail is a great workout; sits on a slow incline the entire way. Narrow rocky trail but Wide enough to bring the dogs and people still pass us if needed. We loved it. We got a late start, headed up at 10:30a and it got warm but is shaded a lot of the way.

Nice breezy hike in late afternoon in September! Very sparse though and the ending leaves something to be desired

First hike ever and it was perfect, slightly difficult towards the top but worth it if your careful.

Very well-marked and well-maintained trail. Pretty easy hike except for the last half mile near the summit where things got a little more strenuous. Pretty good views at the top - a little hazy on our visit due to the wildfires.

The trail is very well maintained. It’s a gradual climb until the last part and it’s pretty steep. Definitely worth the hike. I loved the view at the top!

Great views today, no smoke. Trail isn't too bad, just the push up to the summit was a bit strenuous. Definitely wear good traction shoes, in parts there is a lot of loose dirt and rock going downhill.

Moderate difficulty but worth every bit. The views are spectacular and the hike ebbs and flows from mountain to city views. Beautiful and serene.

HikingGreat!

A bit more difficult than expected and quite hot when we went, but oxide have some shade. The parking fills up fairly early. We actually were trying to go to seven bridges trail, but there was absolutely no parking (we arrived at 8:15am on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend). We found this trail and got super lucky with a parking spot (all of these spots were also full by then, but someone had just finished when we were pulling up). This trail had a pretty good amount of elevation, but wasn’t steep until the last portion. Easy trail to follow and incredible views at the top. Lots of Mountain View’s! You reach a false summit of one mountain, but then head down on the trail and then back up another mountain, keep going until the absolute end! We had a wonderful picnics at the top! Lots of cool rock formations.

Amazing! Wonderful views of Colorado Springs. Definitely some difficult parts of the hike. Would recommend good hiking shoes and some water. Highly recommend.

Amazing hike with incredible views at the summit. The last part of the incline will kick your butt and it was definitely a challenge but well worth it once you get to the top. Make sure you have hiking shoes/something with good tread for on the way down because you will slide. Pay close attention as the trail is not well marked and we took a wrong turn down a steep mountain side haha! This is the first trail we hiked once we got to Colorado Springs and I couldn’t think of a better one to break us in. Happy climbing!

Great hike! Views are just spectacular. I think the elevation gain is more than what’s listed here. I’m echoing another comment here to be mindful going down because the trail is not very well marked.

awesome trail, last 1/3 of the hike was much more difficult than the first 2/3 but it was worth it once we reached the summit

Easy start then a rock scramble at the summit. Plan to spend time at the top, great views. Stated our hike early morning and it took 1 1/2 hours to get to the end.

Fun trail! The last mile will kick your butt as it’s basically straight up, but once you get to the top if you climb up on some of the rocks the view is spectacular! Not a lot of shade so sunscreen and water are a must. Be very very careful coming down as it’s not only loose dirt & it’s not well signed. My group and two other groups went too far the wrong way down and had to mud slide down to the main road- a lot of fun, but not the intention.
