Beautiful hike with great views of Golden, Coors Plant and Denver. Great rock formations and lots of animal trails. Take a lunch and have a picnic.

Excellent hike for great views close to Denver! It's shorter, and has views of Denver, the coors factory, and the mountains so it's great for new hikers and visitors not yet adjusted to the altitude. It's not very shaded, so it would be great on an overcast day or in the fall. Trail gets pretty busy on the weekends.

8-16-15 Rachel; Rocky up and little shade but nice hike close to Denver. Good views of Golden/ panoramic, but very popular so expect lots of pp/ dogs unless you go before 10am.

I love this trail! Yes, it can be busy at the trailhead but being so close to Denver i think that should be expected. Obviously if you get there earlier in the AM its less crowded, versus 11am. There are bathrooms at the trailhead which is a nice plus. In addition, there is a small stream at the trailhead which I've seen many dogs enjoying.

You'll want to bring poles for navigation with the rockier parts (both going up and down) and there isn't much shade (bring water, wear sunscreen/sunglasses). The rocks can be slippery when wet (again, bring poles), so wear hiking (not tennis) shoes.

Overall I feel like I get a good workout with the elevation gain, and it's less than 30 minutes from home! Nice views!

A bit over grown in some areas but has beautiful views and fun boulders to climb over. It's a moderate climb and a nice distance.
