I did this hike during the middle of the week in early June. Nearly the entire parking lot was full when I arrived at 8:30. It’s a great, dry hike with a few rocky sections. The wildflowers have started blooming, and I even saw some big horn sheep. There is very little shade. The trail is not well marked on the western side of the loop and it would be easy to get off the trail; I was glad to have this app recording to ensure my route was correct.

I was happy to find shady spots throughout the hike. Take advantage of them when you come upon them. Hiked this on a Wednesday morning in late May. Just missed the last open spot in the lot, so parked on road. No wildlife spotted. Some folks had masks and others didn’t. I just went to side of trail as best I could and turned my back when necessary to let folks pass. I look forward to hiking it again but reversing the loop.

Went on Sunday morning at 9:30am, small parking lot that was full. Not a lot of shade so beware it gets very hot on a sunny day! Rocky in some areas. All around a decent hike!

This is a nice trail and good workout close to the city but as expected with a trail close to the city it’s extremely crowded. Hardly anyone was wearing a mask and several people had dogs off leash when it is clearly marked that leashes are required. The trail is also narrow making it hard to let people pass. If you do this trail please ensure you wear a mask and are considerate of other people. Also make an effort to get over when people are passing. Trail etiquette was non-existent today.

Definitely rocky and narrow, but not too difficult. The Cedar Gulch portion has very little shade. It’s also very busy - the parking lot was almost full by 7 a.m.

It's a beautiful trail, however the route was not clearly marked throughout. I ended up going off trail toward the summit. Be sure to wear sunscreen as there is little shade. Overall, it's a solid workout and nice views.

Great views! Large Rattlesnake reported to be in middle of trail by runner, did not personally see.

The hike was great and not too difficult. There are some areas of the trail that are quite rocky so if you have balance issues this trail isn't for you. We arrived midday and the parking lot was full but we found roadside parking not too far from the entrance.

Beautiful trail, but narrow, and crowded today. About 85% of people on the trail are not wearing masks. Selfish, thoughtless and dangerous behavior,

Incredible views super close to town. No shade for most of it, so bring extra water and sun protection. Thank you to those who covered their faces as we passed!

Beautiful and pretty easy trail. Gets very crowded and most paths are narrow. Hiked at a leisurely pace and finished just over 2 hours.

This trail can be a bit crowded but it’s absolutely beautiful. If you do the entire loop it does get quieter in the back portion. It’s also got a few rocky moments that are fun to navigate. We even saw a Moose!

Great moderate trail! Not a ton of parking, but overall a really good experience. The trail itself is rocky and pretty narrow. Easy to follow and has a lot of shady spots. Saw a bull snake about halfway to the top, but it wasn’t aggressive and we were able to go around it.

Great conditions, while it could be quite sunny, there were plenty of shady parts.

Crowded, basically no one wearing face masks if that’s something you’re worried about. Got the last parking spot and cars were lined up along the entry way. Not a bad hike, fairly easy.

Not too crowded during the week- very exposed so would recommend getting there earlier in the day. Not very technical and not very steep- can do 4 miles with an additional 2 miles of interested. Hiker only. Dogs must be on a leash.

The hike itself was beautiful! But the trail is so narrow practicing social distancing was nearly impossible. Especially because only about 20% of individuals actually had face coverings. I started the trail at 7:40am and on the way down I was constantly passing crowds. I would suggest starting this hike no later than 7am to avoid the non-compliant social distancing hikers.

Nice trail but if solitude is your goal then this is not it. A lot of foot traffic and you can hear highway during most of the hike. Small parking lot but I got lucky. Not much shade so it is best done in the morning.
