Pretty hot despite the time of year. Just made it to the old Homestead, did not go to the West White House ruins. Actually did not mind having to keep my dog on leash in this case, because she pulled me up that brutal Hill. :)

I loved this trail. Even though I am just recovery from 2 knee surgeries and a broken leg the trail wasn’t hard going up. I just took it slow. Coming down was difficult because of the ‘slamming’ down on the trail. BUT, I had invested in trek poles which was a HUGE help. It is totally worth making it up to the ruins of both the ‘summer’ house (view is breathtaking) and the castle ruins. Not just for the view but the history behind it is amazing.

Views are worth the climb

great day hike! the loop is perfect for anyone who is wanting to do more than just a few miles. Rocky in some places, steep hills but well worth it!

Nicely maintained switchback trail with a good elevation gain. You're not going to see as much raw nature given how close it is to everything, but still a ton of fun. Took me closer to 2 hours only because my walking partner kept having to take breaks.

I really enjoyed this day hike!! Nice level of intensity, but worth it for the views. Good shade along the way, nice to have the Turkey Trot as an alternate option on the way back for some new scenery. Castle remains were an added plus! Would highly recommend this hike.

Fun hike to take a few extra trails and add some distance, kept a good pace and the ruins were a good spot to rest for a quick snack!

peaceful and quiet.

Love this trail. Went up TGIF right side of turkey trot, up to walkers dream and down due to time. Just over 6 miles in about 2.5 hours. This hike has a great view of Denver but the other side is just wonderful. Probably a good place for trail running, biking, or bringing a pet. Highly recommend!!

Rocky and steep. Not my favorite for running but a good trail overall. Nice views.

I took the Turkey Trot trail and it took me a little less than an hour and a half to complete the loop. Nice view of Red Rocks. I went about 2pm on a Sunday and it was moderately busy, but not too bad. Dog friendly ❤️

Not super busy... saw a bunch of super cute black fluffy squirrels

Nice trail close to Denver. Very little shade. Fairly steep

Great moderate difficult trail. First stretch is a big jump in elevation and pretty exposed, but then you cut in and out of small pine and juniper groves. take the Turkey trot loop, it's hikers only and has beautiful scenery. Maybe crossed paths with <10 MTB. Took ~3 hours to get up to the ruins including the extra Turkey loop.

Went at 730am on a Sunday and was not crowded. Mostly uphill with some areas leveling off. There are mountain bikes sharing the trail with you. Mostly exposed but some shaded areas (turkey trot trail). Nice views of Denver and Red Rocks. Took 2.5-3h RT.

Excellent views of Red Rocks!! Recommend the turkey trot for the climb as it's a bit shadier.

Good views of Denver and the Red Rocks. Good for trail running. Can get hot if going in the middle of the day. Pack sunscreen and a hat, at least half of trail is not shaded.

Great trail. A challenge but nothing too crazy. partially shaded, the higher up you get the more shade. Get there early, parking is limited and there are a lot of bikers on the trail.

perfect 3 miles up to catch a glimpse of white caps at Walker's dream then 3 miles down. great workout if take Turkey trot up to castle trail connection. great for something short and close to everything. bikers and hikers on trail very friendly.

Beautiful views of Red Rocks and Denver. Only a handful of courteous bikers on the trail. Good parking lot.

A lot of bikers, but they were courteous! The burnt down mansion is really cool to check out. The views are stunning of the city and red rocks!
