Great snowshoeing trail! Just enough difficulty to make you feel accomplished to Summit. Great view from the pass. Snow wasn’t bad. Almost seemed like micro spikes could’ve done the job for most of the trail.

1/20/20, trail was hard snow packed due to snow shoeing and skiers, @ the bowls/pass sign the snow was softer, trail snow not as packed. I hiked with yak tracks and had some sinking, made it ok, my son cruised with snow shoes. 1 1/2 hours to reach Montgomery pass sign, 1 hour for return trip back down. Beautiful views into north park a Poudre canyon to the East. Saw no wildlife. Met 1 skier w/ dog, 1 gentleman snow shoeing, and 3 men frantically searching for Montgomery pass yerts.

Hiked on 8/22. About 2.5 hours total and can be steep at times. Views from the top are beautiful but can be very windy and cold.

Hiked on 8/22/19 on a sunny day. Started 8:45 am. Duration was a little over 3 hours. Went up to Montgomery Pass sign at top (2 miles from TH), then went up a nearby mountain top. Trail is mostly through forest with breakout at timberline into stunning views of mountains, valleys, lakes and vistas. Trail mostly steep but good terrain. Would do again. Quite windy on top, retreated to trees for lunch.

Hiked 8/2/19. Mid 60’s all day. The Flowers, mushrooms and gorgeous summit view made the day absolutely fabulous. Muddy at the start and then a nice well marked dirt trail to the top.

7/27/19. Nice stroll above tree line. We went 3 miles west of the sign which took us easily up to a no name 12,150 summit. Our round trip was about nine miles. Lots of wild flowers. Trail was a little wet and muddy but the snow is finally out of the way.

Really great hike! We brought our two dogs- it is off leash but we were warned about moose and that it would be safer to have them leashed. But we didn’t see any moose. The shade was perfect, beautiful views from the top. Took us about 2.5 hours which included 30 mins of hanging at the top. Great day hike and was not crowded at all!

Hiked on 7/19. Very little bug activity. Some muddy spots in the beginning, but very manageable. Only two areas of snow on the trail that were easily traversed. Beautiful views throughout. Saw a large bull moose near the parking area.

Hiked on 7/7. Water and mud for first 1/4 mile of trail. Still a good amount of snow in places further up the trail. Snow is stable and didn't posthole so snowshoes are not needed. Beautiful views from the pass. The trailhead parking is popular so get there early when more parking is available.

Went snowshoeing on 12/26/18 and it was a great hike. Steep on the way up. The snow was falling and made for an absolute beautiful hike.

Enjoyed a great hike with our dog today! Started the trail about 9:45am and didn’t see many others on our way up. It was super windy on the saddle so we didn’t commit to seeing the trail’s end point on the ridge but tucked into a rock cropping to snack and admire the views. Busier on our way down at noon - didn’t get to see any animals since there were many people, including some hunters, on the trail. Highly recommend this hike - it’s relatively steep on the way up but there’s great shade as you’re going thru the forest most of the way. Views for the last section are totally worth it!

Very nice day hike with beautiful views. Since we are from the Midwest the elevation caught up to us a couple times but it was worth every second!

Tons of wildflowers in late July! We were the only people on the trail. Most of the way up, there’s a sign to the bowls and to the pass. We headed up a steep incline to the bowls. Wild!

Great snow for snow shoeing. Very visible at night by moonlight.

This is a fantastic day hike. It is kind of strenuous at points but overall fairly easy. The trail is steep but rather short, and the pay off is incredible. There are tons of wildflowers and meadows! And the forest is thick and kind of eerie, in a good way. Bring a jacket and good boots, as the temperature decreases when you reach the Montgomery pass sign! Remember to be safe and have fun!

This is a nice hike with great views at the top. It's pretty easy and is a good dog hike. We only saw a couple other people on a Saturday morning.

Very peaceful, beautiful hike! Only saw one other group going up to the diamond peaks. Steep in a few sections but overall an easy, well-marked trail. Noticed a faint trail that led to a tower about 1 mile from the pass to the North. Didn't realize all the hiking in that area so I will be back!
