Super pretty calm ride. Cruise alongside the town through cow pastures

this is not really a trail. this is a sidewalk that goes through a cow pasture. you could literally push your grandma in a wheelchair or your baby in a baby stroller. just sayin...

We moved to SW CO from MN last year and it has been hard to find inline skating trails near us. This is a 2 hour drive but very scenic and the trail itself is nicely paved, wide and flat, with multiple benches and shade trees. It's only 3.8 miles from town to Walmart but you can park at Walmart and take off from there and get the entire trail. There are two small road crossings but nothing treacherous. We went July 4th and there were few people on the trail. Everybody was in town by the river for the celebration. They had food trucks, beverage stands and live music and a few rides for the kids. We left and wandered around downtown and ate at Eat Mo's burritos restaurant which was quite good. Fun day trip.

Lovely scenery along paved route We parked across from dog park Saw snowcapped peaks, cows, deer , and a small meandering stream through the pasture. At the end of the Monarch Spur Trail is the Mill Run Trail

This is an easy bike ride from the Arkansas River to the west side of town (on Hwy 50). The trail is paved the whole way and has a gentle uphill trend. There is a fun dog park halfway up this trail if you happen to be walking your dog. This trail ultimately gives a more direct route to Wal-Mart from downtown without having to go on the highway.
