Start from the parking lot and walk about 100 yards, cross a stream, and continue straight on the Village Walk Trail. After 0.4 miles, take the Red Rocks Trail to the south. You will see the Morrison Slide rising in the distance. As you get closer, you can see the trail switchbacking up the side of Morrison Slide. After another 0.6 miles, you cross a stream. Just after the stream crossing, you come to the junction with the Morrison Slide Trail. Go up the Morrison Slide Trail and you will be rewarded with a pleasant walk along the edge of a 20 foot cliff. A nice resting spot is found just before you start descending the other side of the slide. This descent is a challenging mountain bike trail, so watch out for the bike riders struggling up the fairly rough trail. When you reach the Red Rocks trail, go north to return to your starting point. Warning: Other than the two stream crossings, there is little shade on this trail. It is best in the morning or evening.

LIARS! Who named this Red Rock Trail? There was barely any red rock at the end of the trail. More than 95% of this trail is nothing more than a hot desert or just a field with zero shade. I really regret spending time on this trail.

Amazing trail! Having just moved here from the mid west it’s the perfect trail on which to gain endurance. I’d recommend getting to the trail early as there is little shade. You will be surrounded by Lots of beautiful nature.

Well marked trail with great views. Definitely go early to avoid heat and snakes. As described this trail has moderate multi use traffic. Get out soon to enjoy wildflowers, which are still in bloom.

Would definitely recommend this trail! Amazing spots to stop and relax on the rocks with great views. Also great for mountain bikers lookig for experience with decently rocky terrain with narrow paths.

Great trail. Not too many people and plenty of parking at 8am on a weekday. Few bikes and quite a few trail runners. I would rate this trail easy-moderate. We finished in about 2 hrs. Very dry. I wore my hiking boots and my friend wore her sneakers and did just fine. Great place to take kids as there is a stream at the start of the trail-you could play at the stream, walk a bit, and then come back to the stream. Would do this trail again but would not go after 12 as it would be too hot.

Beautiful hike for an overcast day. Wildflowers are blooming. Fairly easy hike with views at the top. Took red rocks trail to Morrison slide up to the top and had a great view of the valley

Did this a few days ago, lots of sun, some wind, the trail was in pretty good shape. Nice views. Lots of other friendly hikers and bikers later in the morning. A nice option while some of the mountain trails still have snow and ice on them.

Fun hike!! Took Red Rocks Trail to Cherry Gulch then up the side of the mountain. Beautiful open hike. Sun screen and hat recommended as there is sun exposure practically the entire time! Many families, elders and dogs out today in the afternoon. Arrived around 9am and beat the rush of foot traffic coming down the mountain around noon :)

Perfect for what it is, if you’re looking for a manageable and windy path with good views. Will get muddy, but trail remains totally walkable.

total beginner, barely adjusted to the altitude since moving from Boston and this hike was perfect for me. it was challenging but still a little too easy I'd say. Pretty views and would definitely go again. Busier than I'd expect for a Wednesday morning but not too much.

Trail was muddy in places and snowy in others. Poles were useful, but otherwise I was in my regular sneakers. The mud was mostly firm in most places. Some deep mud in a few places.
