Great hike through pine trees. Snow covering most of the trail but traction not completely necessary. I put mine on to cross the street so that froze over the trail. Not a lot of great views

Icy spots between miles 2 and 3. Traction was very helpful with an inch of fresh snow.

Hike on 11/4. Great trail with beautiful vistas, meadows and rock outcroppings! There is some snow and ice on the north-facing sides and spikes were very helpful. It was worth the effort to do the side trail leading up to the lookouts. Only a handful of people on the upper trails. Just over three hours for an 8.2 mile loop.

This trail is absolutely beautiful. A lot of people know this so best to hike before lunch. On the way back the trails were packed with people. Trails are very well marked and maintained. Perfect for a family getaway, not so much for the lone backpacker.
