Part of Loveland's Mariana Butte trail system, the Hogback trail takes you from the Mariana butte golf course parking lot to Rossum Drive. Once you end up at the road head north to the entrance of the Oxbow Natural Area for additional mileage. The first part of the trail provides panoramic views of the front range, while the second part follows the back side of the Mariana butte hogback rock formation leading to the Big Thompson River. Once you reach the river you will follow it to the road.

The next time I do this trail, I will park on Rossum, then connect to the two Mariana Butte trails for a nice loop. For an urban trail, I really liked it. Not a lot of traffic and super close to Loveland.
