Directions from Castle Rock: Travel northwest on Highway 85 toward Sedalia. Continue approximately 6 miles past Sedalia to Titan Road. (Before the left turn on to Titan Road is a sign for Roxborough State Park.) Follow Titan Road as it turns into Rampart Range Road and leads you to Roxborough Road and the park entrance.

Very easy hike with great views of the local red rock formations. This hike is short enough that you could easily pair it with another hike at the park, like the south rim loop. Overall Roxborough is probably my favorite front range park due to the combination of accessibility from the metro and beautiful views! See photos of the hike on my instagram @seesienza.

We took the Lyons Overlook off the Fountain Valley Loop and we were not disappointed. The view is amazing! The Fountain Valley Loop is ok for sport strollers, but the overlook is not, as it is quite a few steps up to the top.

Decent, easy, starter for children. Also decent for friends and family who live closer to sea level and are not in the best shape. I've been a few times, and it was never very busy. Easy grades, stable & flat surfaces. The nature center offers some great activities too.

Offshoot from Lyons trail, which takes you to overlook with better views of valley. Worth it if you've never been this way, or if you are looking for a little longer hike. Pretty easy jaunt on foot.
