Running

Excellent 8 Mile Trail for a hike-trail run combination. Sometimes a little crowded on the lower parts but it thins out as you go further up. A few friendly bikers along the way.

Beautiful hike, most of the snow has melted but still patches of ice if you go in the morning!

We got a little turned around at the back loop but over-all great trail. Not too difficult and well marked.

It was a great hike, easy to do in the snow. It was well laid out, with nice switchbacks. I went on a Saturday so the trail and trails in the area were pretty busy, just in case you’re not trying to hike around a lot of people!

Hiking

I think this is my new favorite winter hike! I arrived 8:30am on a Monday in December and only passed a few groups the whole way, the ruins are worth a little detour to check out and it’s absolutely worth climbing up to the lookout at the very end of the second loop! Pretty steady incline the whole way gets you warm quickly and there’s little shade along the entire trail which is great for December but probably would make this grueling in the summer. Very snowy and can be pretty slippery where the snow has been trampled, especially going down!

Trail running on the 11/28. Muddy in spots and some snow in the shady areas. Tons of people Saturday morning. Pretty hike but heavily trafficked for sure

Good trail with some fantastic views of the snow-capped mountains. Parking lot was just recently expanded, so the trails get a lot more crowded but also you don't have to get there as early to get a spot. Still snowy on some parts of Turkey Trot Trail, but well worth braving the cold to hike it.

This was an enjoyable workout for us. Getting to the top was tough at points but we really enjoyed the view from the pavilions.

Good trail! In the beginning when it splits, go right if you want a not so steep and shaded area. If you go left there are very steep parts and hardly any shade. Stay hydrated guys!

HikingGreat!

I came here a bit before 9AM on Sunday, and the parking lot was entirely full. Luckily, someone was pulling out just as I got there so I got a spot. The trailhead has a big map as well as paper maps for people to take. The trail was mostly unshaded and it wasn't too steep. Lots of people though, and lots of bikers. The signage was very clear and so were the trails, and I got to Mount Falcon at 10:25AM (less than 1.5 hours after starting) without a problem. The view was alright, as there were many trees blocking the actual view. I went back down in less than 1.5 hours as well, getting back to the car at 11:45AM. A good morning hike, but come early if you don't want to park on the street!
