Perfect conditions

Unbelievable views!! Absolutely breathtaking!! Bring lots of water!! Dog-friendly! Lots of loose skeet so wear proper shoes, slipping was a reality. The weather was beautiful... very hard trail but could be done by beginner to advanced if you take your time. The incline is still closed but I wasn’t looking forward to 2000 stairs so that was ok in my book! This trail is a must...

Great hike yesterday. Weather was perfect! Fun challenging hike with great views. Can’t wait for the incline to be open again. It was a tease being so close at the 1800 step mark. I’ll see you soon incline

Overcast day, but warm and lovely so no ice or snow on any of the trail. It is a definitely high traffic--Lots of people running down Lower Barr. The trail was in good condition.

Anything Barr trail is hard and amazing. Being from Ohio with no elevation whatsoever every trail in Ohio is easy and a baby trail compared to this! I highly recommend this hike.

Great trail to take in views of mountain range, especially Pine Cone Peak, which is to the R on the way down from the Incline. Packed gravel and lots of winding switchbacks. Enjoyed every step!

I need to dispute some of the reviews of this trail. I am an elite (ex professional) trail runner and there is no rule that you can’t go UP Barr trail. Everybody seems to be saying it’s down only and only to come down after you do the incline. I ran to the eagles nest at 70% of my maximum HR in 25 minutes today. And never encountered any people that were upset that I “was going up the trail”. This is an EXCELLENT trail and I have raced all over Colorado and Utah. The only thing I would recommend is if you actually do intend to literally RUN the trail (and not hike) you might consider using shoes with deep lugs. I wear Salomon Speedcross 5 shoes and am always thankful because the scree is very loose in places. This is an A+ trail for beginners to advanced and it goes 6 miles up to Barr Camp so you can run as far or as short as you want on this up and back trail.

very pretty trail, had to wait on trail for a bit due to very aggressive bulls but would still do again.

Wonderful hike yesterday! Get to experience high desert and alpine pine forest on the same hike. Views from the top of the Manitou incline are spectacular. It does have a lot of people going down the trail from the incline so going up attention is needed to runners coming down.

Awesome challenge. Lots of runners going down on the backside so watch out. The tail down isn’t very wide.

OK, but lots of people going down from the Incline. Beautiful views over to Cameron's Cone, and Gog & Magog Rocks!

Walked down 4 miles of this trail from the false summit of the incline late April 2016. Beautiful wintery walk. The scenery is spectacular. It was snowing but hike down was easy breezy compared to incline on way up.

We hiked this first try to challenged ourselves and gauge how much work we have left before we attempt to hike all of pikes peak. We have a lot of work to do!! So much fun and very beautiful. Parking is $20 and frustrating though.

Done this trail three times. Very scenic. There's a detour you can take that takes you down to a river. Recommend you going down there. There's some nice rivers and giant boulders. Went there 3 weeks ago and the construction on the incline had the eagles nest blocked off. Which is unfortunate. But definitely still worth the climb.
